Inventory Problem

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 5:05 am

This may make me sound stupid, but I am in the beginning of the game (i've already finished the game before) and I can't open my second level of inventory. I try to press on the blinking down arrow but nothing happens. I have a key I need to open a door which is in the second inventory level, but I can't get to it. If anyone has had this problem and there is any other way of getting there or anything I can do to fix this, please help?

The blinking bouncing arrow? The same that appears at all cardinal points on the screen edge? That's a directional arrow for camera movement when in inventory mode. For inventory levels you should have an arrow to the right on the "fold" that does not blink, either pointing up or down. Hopefully that's the problem, because this is a bug I've never heard of nor encountered.

No, no as Miles_Acraeus says the blinking arrows are directional arrows for camera movement. If you have levels in your inventory it will be displayed by big arrows pointing up/down when on the right-most side of the inventory screen. If clicking them doesn't work, try scrolling down with the mouse.

Don't worry about it Pirate Monkey, I got the same thing. So does others around the world(I saw a lot of the videos of Arx Fatalis game play by fans in clear sight on youtube, that's why I know.). I don't know why but my guess is this;computers that are not that great can't support this part of this great game or the dang computer doesn't have enough space. Say what you will Pirate Monkey but that's my guess. I got the friggin game for Christmas and got my money's worth playing through most of the game with many replays never finishing the game because of the dang one set inventory thing(lol). Yea one set inventory thing makes it feel unofficial and less of being an actual all star, heroic, Am Shaegar, Guardian being in the game and just...just...the universe of Arx Fatalis. Don't take my word for it Pirate Monkey but that's just my guess. Oh yea, and not to mean to put all this up for nothing, I tried all the suggestions so far with the inventory if I remember correctly. Although I prefer the big official arx fatalis type color arrows.

Darn, sorry, my comp didn't actually showed it went through or not for a while there. I got impatient.

Wow that was so stupid. It's really been too long since I've played this game. I remember that there is no second inventory level until a while after leaving the goblin prison. I couldn't find the key I needed so I assumed it was in the second level, but when I went back to the goblin boss's room and checked back in the chest, I never even took the key. Sheesh, I'm dumb. Thank you all though.

Whoa, I practically played the whole game and went through that part too. Did that exact same thing included. And I still didn't get a second inventory level. Of course, my comp freezes a lot with this game and stuff so it's not surprising to me. Man, I can't wait to play with that second inventory level if I get a better computer or something.

You don't need a better computer at all, you just need to know where to find the packs. After you do the murder investigation for the King, you get a room in the castle and there is a second backpack on the bed. Also, when you're looking for the dragon egg for the "ultimate weapon" there's a third backpack on a ledge in the ice cave. You have to levitate to it. (If you didn't know, you get to the ice cave by exiting the goblin prison into the cave with the one troll. You levitate from the ledge to the other side) So that's how you get three levels. My problem was just that I had forgotten that you only start with one.

Well that would explain the single tier inventory, Pirate. :P

Glad you didn't find another bug... That would svck for this game in 2012.

You could also buy one from Redset in the rebel camp, or if you're so inclined use the "bone and chair" cheat in the tutorial dungeon. ;)
