I'm having a hard time chosing which weapon type to chose. What would be the best setup and why ?

a stick a rock and a good pair of Reebok pumps....so you can run like hell after throwing rock to anger enemy and poking him with the stick realizing said enemy was too strong for you in the first place.

true story

i liked my elven daggers for awhile there when i was testing out which character i wanted to actually play through with.

Dual daggers offer the highest dps I believe, especially if you are playing a stealth character and get the Assassin's Blade perk.

if you do swords you can get good crits. I also sometimes put a mace for the armor penetration if fighting large group of heavies. axes are usefull but i dont have many points in that side of 1 h

Dagger/Dagger or Sword/Mace depending on perk choice and playstyle. I'd personally go Sword/Mace for anything non-stealth, and dual Dagger for stealth.

Twin Skyforge Steel swords sharpened on the grindstone are really great early on in the game. They seem to be a hair better than Orcish weapons, so they won't start getting dated until ebony smithing is unlocked.
