I miss acrobatics and athleticism..

I miss the times where I could drink a potion or use a scroll that would increase acrobatics/ athleticism. i remember drinking a potion ,in Morrowwind i think, and it giving me insane hops.. it only lasted 3 seconds so by the time i was ready to land i would fall to my death..

I like having those skills in the game, it makes jumping around and climbing mountains fun and worthwhile, not to mention all the cool "deifying physics" motions.

Good, I am glad you see why they removed it : )

More than hopping...I miss levitate from Morrowind. Especially enchanting boots so that they gave me constant levitate. I mean hopping around like a ninja from roof top to roof top is heaps fun. But why do that when you can walk in the air? Then you only need to worry about Cliff racers.... the one thing I don't miss from Morrowind.....

I sort of miss acrobatics, if only because once you got it up past a certain level in Morrowind you could travel solely by jumping and get everywhere faster. However given how easy it is to level up in Skyrim, and how prone my character is to jumping over terrain she isn't supposed to, I'm rather glad that the skill was removed this time around.
Now Slow Fall and Levitate on the other hand, those I miss DEARLY.

I miss both a lot. Awful decision, Bethesda. Along with the removal of attributes.

Skyrim is a fantastic game, but it's pretty poor as an RPG.

Getting rid of Athleticism and Acrobatics were two of the best and most obviously positive decisions that Bethesda made.

No more hopping around like a madman constantly. Ugh.

And considering how XP works in this game, all you'd have to do is continuously jump in place to gain a ton of levels.

You can do some cool stuff with the whirlwind shout.

I noticed some loot on top of a broken tower that didn't look reachable. Spent about 5 minutes trying to jump to it, almost died, and convinced myself I couldn't get there by jumping. Then I stood back, lined myself up and did the whirlwind shout. I got lucky judging the distance and shot right across a big gap and ended up on the tower. Pretty neat.

I miss them too. However, I feel the default running and jumping is quite good.

What really bothers me is that we can't attack while jumping anymore (nor while swimming). This screws up the flow of intense fights.

We all do but the gameplay doesn't suffer for it, immersion and rollplay do though and that svcks.

Nice. Sounds like a decent substitution :D I'll have to try it after I ACTUALLY get the game.... the bad thing about living abroad.... can't get things right away. :(
Has anyone found boots of blinding speed in ESV?

Being able to moon jump around like a madman helps immersion and roleplay?

No it removes some of the sandboxiness of the game.

TES games are also known for how you can "break" parts of the game if you feel like it (freedom!)

However you can see why they removed it, some of the very well done dungeons would be made moot by being able to jump high...
