Warrior vs Vampires tactics

So I read somewhere that if you get infected by a Vampire, which happens when he/she hits you in melee, you can cure yourself just once by completing the Vampirism cure quest. This brings up the question how to fight vampires without letting them hit you since another infection would mean you will be a vampire to the very end? Mages and archers can deal with them from a distance but when it comes to close combat what do you do to avoid getting hit?

Simply put, become 1) a werewolf or 2) carry a crap load of cure disease potions on you and take one after every melee conflict with a vampire NPC.

Go to a shrine and get a blessing from the alter. As long as you do this within 3 days of getting infected, you'll be cured.

^^^^ that

I was doing a dungeon and i've gotten in the habit of using the wait feature to heal quickly and effectively after fights. After a 1 hour wait i had a nasty vampiric surprise. I wont spoil it for those who havent experienced it yet, it'll definitely catch you off guard.

Thank you guys, I didn't know it was easily curable at early stages. BTW is there a way to tell you got infected right after a battle with a vampire or before those 3 days expire? Actually how do you find out at all?

I haven't tried it in Skyrim, but in both Oblivion and Morrowind (the two prior TES games where you were limited to only getting cured of vampirism once) getting cured of vampirism made you permanently immune to vampirism.
