I need Multi caracter system !

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 6:40 am

Hi all,

I love SKYRIM but... There is a problem, i want a real multi caracter system... WHY NOT ?

SKYRIM is the best RPG game, and in a best rpg game we need a true multi caracter system and not multi save system... Please, add it to next patch it will be perfect !

Sry for my bad language, i'm french fan.

Have a good day.

I've always wanted this since Morrowind as I fear I will save over another character in a moment of extreme tiredness! Now my son plays Skyrim and I am terrified after putting 20 hours in he will save over my character so having a character select would be good but I don't believe they could add it in now.

Remember before it gets implemented, back up your saves. (PC I know for sure you can)

Played 10 hours the day the game came out.

Woke up the next morning to find my gf had woken up before me and started her own character on my PS3 profile.

You can guess the outcome.. yes my save was gone.

How you can make such amazing games and fail to have such simple things like a good char save system is beyond me. I mean exactly how many minutes would it take to code an extra menu that divides the saves up by character?

While I agree that it would be great... Aren't you expecting to much from a simple Patch? Few patches add things, they usually work tweaking and bug-fixing the game.

thats not really what patchs are for, patchs are for fixing bugs not adding in new content. DLC might introduce new features to the settings mechanic, only that its possible that they would but extremely improbable

Heres a little tip (If you've got the time and patience to do when you need to save to start on another character):

-Before saving, make the screen third person, rotate to the front of your character, and zoom in close so you have a screenshot of the character from waist up, or shoulder up.

A visual image of your character will add another preventative safeguard to eliminate accidental over-writes.

It's a good solution but a game like Skyrim must have a true multi caracter system!

Dunno how the PS3 version is but on 360:

1. Create the amount of profiles you need for the amount of people or characters you're gonna use.
2. Log into the correct profile for you game, that means tell your GF that her profile is ABC123, not Dieh.
3. Saves don't appear together when they are on two separate profiles.
4. Profit.

[edit]

Alternatively, when you are going to quit Skyrim and go to bed or to work or whatever, then make 3 to 5 saves in a row.
GF overwrites one? No biggie, you still have 2 to 4 saves left.

I agree 100%. This feature wouldn't be hard at all. Mass Effect does it perfectly. Same style as Bethesda, just different spot per character.

Why does everyone think that because they can think of it then it will be modded? Doesn't matter how bizarre it is someone always says 'It can be modded'.

There is a Savegame Manager.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15

This is for PC obviously.
I have no idea if that stuff works for XBOX360 or PS3.

Problem with this is that when DLC comes out wont you need to purchase it for each profile / character you have? I dunno for sure but it seems that way to me.

All it would require is a slot system, say three slots and each character takes up a slot and has its individual saves.

Something like this.

Slot 1 - Character name
Slot 2 - Character name
Slot 3 - Character name

Each slot would be empty until you use it to start the game, then from selecting that you can go into continue or load a specific save file.

As I am on pc I just copy pasta my saves to a back up folder and start fresh. It would be nice to have a system like I was talking about though.
