Firstly, I LOVE THIS GAME! Im normally an FPS guy and I played oblivion as warrior but Im having a great time trying mostly magic.

Ive only really played through the Winterhold College missions and it feels as though ive already completed a whole game!


Anyway reference Enchanting, is there a limit to what you can disenchant, for example I can disenchant a fire damage sword but cant certain mage robes.

Are some things just locked or can everything be enchated with the right skill?


I would ideally like to make some light armour with the same qualities of certain special mage robes.

Not all enchants are available for all pieces of armour or weapons. I very much doubt you will be able to use mage aparel enchants on light armour.

I saved your image, and placed it in C:\Program Files x86\Steam\userdata\74342223\760\remote\72850\screenshots

But when I select Skyrim on my games, it won't come up as a background image ?_?

That's untrue. It's by slot, not armor type. You could put mage enchants on heavy armor if you wanted.

I *think* there are some things you cannot disenchant, namely unique items. Everything else can be disenchanted, and there is no limit.

Each slot only has a certain list of enchantments. For example, I can't put a "Fortify Smithing" on the head piece, it just isn't available. It is available on rings, necklace, bracer, chest pieces though. You can enchant at any level, but when you're low level your enchantments svck.

Save up grand soul gems and practice with the others. Grand soul gems give you the best results.

I picked up a frostbite staff from a bandit mage, but it doesnt appear when i try to disenchant it for some reason. Does the item need to be fully charged to disenchant, or is it a bug?

Hmm if I place the image in C:\Program Files x86\Steam\userdata\74342223\760\remote\72850\screenshots it doesn't call dllhost.exe COM SURROGATE to autocomplete the thumbnail image.

Have any of you guys ever saved pictures on steam? I usually find it fumbly to hit f12 when I'm playing, so I like to get images from other users to put on the game skins. Instead of seeing my 1 character instead of multiple images

That's a magical weapon, that holds a spell in it to use. It's way different from an enchantment.
