Did i just lose my level 27 mage?

I start a new character just to try something new so now I can't access my first character? Please tell me Bethesda is not this stupid and I still have access to my other character?

Pretty sure your saves are numbered for each character. Im at save 100 something, and I start a new character and start saving with him, he will start back at save 1. It should be fairly easy to tell them apart at the top of the load list if the numbers are a ways apart.

Ahh wow yea this happened to me.

If you never manually saved yourself - then it likely re-wrote your saves.

I was lucky enough to only lose about 9 hours of gameplay by having manually saved early.

Sorry but I think its gone unless someone else knows some trick

The quicksaves and autosave are universal and get overwritten....only hardsaves are the safe way to store your character.

Epic oversight on part of Beth for not having saves specific to the character........another bethesda failure within a long list.

Yeah, how dare they make a system that requires you to think before you start a new character!

Um... no. This one is clearly your oversight and not theirs. Had they not given you the ability to save, it would be on them. You just screwed up and are looking for someone to blame.

Nope, it's your own failure, but you're just too proud to admit that. It's always easy to blame the developers for your own oversight and lack of attention to essential stuff like this.
Honestly, I do prefer separate profiles and saves for different characters too. That's why I downloaded http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15.

oh and don't forget to back up your saves from time to time, there is a possibility that ALL (auto and manual) of them will get corrupt so you'll HAVE to start a new game... and no I'm not joking :(

it isn't bethesda's fault you are too stupid to use hardsaves, as autosaves are constantly being rewritten. . . note the autosaving when you fast travel or sometimes when you enter your menu. . .

Yeah sorry poster...,but this is your fault not Bethesda's. If you play the game up to level 27 and never saved one time, or if you simply overwrote your saves somehow without thinking, then it can only be your fault.
