So if I'm in say, Riverwood, and throw 30 iron ingots onto the ground by the forge will it still be there when I come back in 3 weeks game time? I'm wondering because I wanted to start over and save all my smithing stuff til later levels without having to buy a house right away etc ..

Join the mages guild, you get a free room as soon as you do.

A house is a must for me right off the bat. I have to store loot and things I want to save for later.

Anyways when I throw stuff down it's gone in 3 days, game time.

so to obtain a house, in order to keep your stuff in, you can just kill someone and take over theirs, like the previous two games, correct?

any suggestions for a particularly suitable home? i'm looking for something urban, yet large, spacious, yet simple.
