are you using the right cable?

are you making sure to make the L-curve on the cable plug in right?

Pictures might be helpful.

I think I'm using the right cable, since it plugs into hdd/cd drive and power supply and it says sata aswell as the mobo. What do you mean by L curve and I don't got a camera

The one that connects the drive to the power supply is not the same cable that connects it to the motherboard

You want a cable like this: http://murfsgarage.cybertechhelp.com/images/sata3.gif

NOT this: http://www.cooldrives.com/lib/cooldrives/sata-hard-drive-power-cable-connector.jpg

Are you using the cable that came with the motherboard? Did you try flipping the cable? There is an L curve on there that it only fits one way. Also, you could have continued your other thread instead of starting a new one.

Usually the motherboard will come with one or two SATA cables. But if it didnt, then you will have to buy a SATA cable separately.

That's the power cable. You need to connect two cables to your hard drive, one for power and one for data transfer.

You need both. The power cable is the multicolored one that goes from the PSU to the drive. The SATA connector cable (the red one in the picture, it doesn't have to be red. I have blue, red, black, and crystal personally :P) goes from the drive to the motherboard.

Your motherboard may have came with one or two. Usually drives don't come with them anymore (OEM ones almost never do, even retail ones rarely do nowadays...)
