useless NPC's, things that dont make sense, and khajiit

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 3:47 pm

now this isnt a protest to change the game because well it has already been released and that wont happen now, but maybe it is..however im mostly looking for answers.

with all of the bugs, some weird bits on the voice acting ( mostly coming from player character sounds ) and NPCs that wander around and dont say but one line or serve any purpose other than to kill them or rob them.

it seems to me that there is an overwhelming amount of people you run into in skyrim that simply serve no purpose. with the nords wanting to get rid of other races ( at least thats my take on it ) why are they still there after the stormcloaks conquer skyrim pretty much. and if they do not trully want to get rid of them then why are there not more?

a lot of people are complaining about not being able to marry a wood elf or a khajit, and that is kind of strange because we can be both. but even more so of a problem i see if that there are what seems like 500 nord to every 1 cat or elf...which would make sense because we are in skyrim after all, but that just leads me back to why most of those nords are just wandering from point A back to B and rinse repeat...and why we can go in the city no matter what ( unless it is because your nord friends in the begining offered a good word for you ) but........

if khajiit are so unpopular in the north it would seem likely that at least a few would be in the dark brotherhood or in the thieves guild. we can play as both but you dont really see them in the game much the khajiit are all outside of the towns because they cant go in but our pretty little kitty can, surely there was a better way to work this out maybe have a khajiit city that wouldnt allow anyone else in then.

is it because the game was rushed? because of engine limitations or file size lack of funds to keep going with the project, or so we could buy the DLC and expansions?...none of those i have an issue with by any means because hey if you have a deadline welp its a deadline and if the engine has taken all it can then we cant really complain about that....and if it was to save things extra for the DLC and such well everyone wants to make $$ ...my guess would be a mix of waiting for the DLC/expansions and fixing other bugs before release to suppress the complaints a bit until a patch is released

could have lowered the complaints on the forums a bit by giving the NPCs something to do other than be a target for a murder, robbery or fedex quest changing a few of them to another race or making a couple of bosmer and khajiit towns/cities what have you...i do have one minor request if anyone of some sort of importance ever by chance reads this....in the future expansions PLEASE try and keep the children to a minimum, you try to talk to them and they run away however their high pitched voice scares the bejeebies out of you when your shopping and they decide it times to tap you on the shoulder, cant beat them up and cant make them go away..

im sorry in an advcance for how this has been laid out but hey its noon and i have been doing college since 3 in the morning with no sleep for a day or twoso dont hate me lol

Think of it this way; there are squillions of people in the world, who you are likely not going to interact with, there are people who your never going to meet, and there are people you don't notice. I have to add that the game wasn't rushed, the started work as soon as oblivion was released, the amount of useless people is BGS' attempt at realism, and I personally think the did a great job. Oh, and one of the cat merchants state that they dislike Skyrim due to the cold weather, and I have to agree, but if people though of putting sleeves on their clothes and armour then I think that they would find the world much a better, warmer place.

The lack of Khajiit makes me think Bethesda is planning an Elsweyr expansion DLC.

I've hoped for that since I learned of Elsweyr in Oblivion when I found out it existed. From the way that it's been described in the various books in-game that deal with Elsweyr, it should offer a lot of design opportunities.

The design philosophy of the game is to create a real lifelike, living breathing environment. And, just like real life, there are people that don't really serve a purpose to you.

There is nothing in the Stormcloak's philosophy about not liking the other races. They just believe that Skyrim shouldn't be ruled by an empire that doesn't promote certain freedoms and doesn't really have much to do with Skyrim as a whole ( the empire was mainly focused in cyriiodil (spelt wrong) and is weak overall).

The nords are the natural inhabitants of the land which explains why they have more redundant tasks, they allow it to operate. The other races either came here for various purposes, in small numbers for various purposes. The reason why the Khajit are so few in the north is because they are accustomed to the warm weather of their homelands. Only in certain cities will you see a direct opposition to non-Nord races.

You make no sense when you say the game was rushed, they've been working on it since they released Fallout 3, this is Bethesda's last game since. The game doesn't seem rushed in any sense of the imagination.

The rest of you text is just nonsense.

It does sound amazing there. I hope Skyrimmer is right too.

Elsweyr also has a city called Orcrest filled with Orcs and Argonians. So it would be hitting 3 birds with one stone.
