Organizing Across Time Zones

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 10:46 pm

So I've been placed in charge of organizing a game tournament, Dota 2, and we have players from ALL over the world. Europe, North America and Australia. It's becoming a bit of pain to try to get a time that works for everyone.

The times are: -8 -5 +1 +11 GMT. I'm trying to get something that isn't 4 in the morning for anyone. If anyone here is good at organizing times or has done it before on this same scale, some help would be appreciated. I like organizing, but svck when it comes to times across different countries.

Edit: Incase you are unclear, I'm trying to set a time/timezone that isn't extreme for any of the people participating.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but what time zone is the tournament taking place at and at what time?

That's what I'm looking for. Finding a time/timezone to set the tournament. Hopefully something that doesn't involve people having to wake up extremely early or having to stay up extremely late, if it's possible.

-8 = 12pm
-5 = 3pm
+1 = 9pm
+11 =7am

I just took a stab at this for the first time. It seems to be the only appropriate option if I did my math correctly and if I understand what is being asked.

If those numbers are right, that looks great. May change it a bit so +11 is at 8AM.
