communicating with giants

i saw in the full demo gameplay that you can talk to giants and todd howard said so himself, but i happend to find a few herds and they didn't give me any option to do so. how do i do it? also, i don't see the point in the giant's camps that are all over the place. if you can't talk to them why are they even there? you can just kill something else.

What's the point of having Bandit camps if you can't talk to them? Same deal as with Giants. Kill them.
Also about the Talk Giant -thingy. Most of the people said that it got cut out. :(

I'm interested to know if anyone else has found one to chat to either - the closest I've seemed to have gotten is selling a stolen goat to one when on a bender (blacked out, so you don't actually see this happening though).

I ran up to the very first giant and mammoth that I found in the game because I saw in the demo that you could coexist with them and I got the best smackdown (smack up?) effect I have ever seen. The giants in the giant camp were immediately hostile and promptly single shot killed me complete with aerial flying body effect. Nothing like watching your body hurtled into the stratosphere. It was awesome.

That said, I was a "little" disappointed in lack of "neutral" NPCs which I thought, from the demo, was a large and interesting change :)

It is even more fun when a dragon actives giants/mammoths. In the middle of fighting a dragon, you have to dodge stuff that can single shot you from behind before you even know they are there. Makes for some of the best dragon fights I have had thus far.
