like in oblivion you could go to the theives guild and pay half your bounty to get it removed, i have not had any of this in skyrim, im pretty much blocked off of one whole hold, i have like a 400-1000g bountry (did quest to steal stuff, had guards guarding it, by the time the quest ended i had a trail of dead guards folowing me, yea, not exactly the best thing)

Join the thieves guild and pay half or just go to jail. It doesn't wreck your skills like it used to (of course murder resets skill progress in all). Just be sure to finish any of your higher levels before you go to jail.

if you leave and then come back sometimes the guards will say hey i recognize you or stop you dead in your tracks and tell you youve committed crimes against the people or something blah like that....it will give you the option to pay your bounty go to jail or fight til the death. i dont recommend the latter lol

I've also read that you can kill any witnesses to your crime and your bounty will drop. Not confirmed though.

who do i talk to in the guild? i just beet that questline and i have not meet anyone to talk to.

I think that's only if you kill the witnesses before they report the crime to a guard. I murdered somebody just outside of the starting town early on in my game and my bounty went away(nobody saw it). Was only 40 coins for murder though. OP, what did you do to earn such a high bounty you're so desperate to get it cut in half? hehe

I'd like to know this too, because I have a 5 gold bounty in just Windhelm, but I'm carrying a ton of stolen items I don't want confiscated, and I don't feel like picking through my inventory to divide and store them. It makes me nervous, because all the guards will start or stop near me - "Hey! Don't I know you from somewhere?" "Must have me mistaken for someone else! Bye officer!"

In Riften you can pay half the fine to a single guard, and then he makes sure that you're not wanted anymore (In Riften of cause)

In oblivion you could use the thieves guild to pay off the bounty.....who do you talk to in this game?

well.... i was doing a quest for the theives guild without puting any spoilers in lets just say that i needed to steal something, there were some guards but they were called something else so i thought they were just mercs or something, and i ended up killing like ... more than 15 less than 30 of them.. i refused to be arrested, i ran, AL THE WAY through the city gate being chased by guards, stole a horse, arrows flying everywere, and managed to get away, .. lets just say im not very welcom there anymore.

You needed to complete 5 of the repeatable quests from vex and the other dude, in each city. As you do them you can pay off a guard for half, and keep your stuff

If you become Thane they won't arrest you.

lol... .. that will work, AFTER i get the bounty gone
