Am I leveing too fast?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:00 am

I'm already level 12, and I only just killed my first dragon. I've only done a couple minor side quests, and I feel like I should only be lvl 5 max. In addition, the combat is way too easy. I'll have to either turn up the difficulty, or stop picking combat perks, which would be weird since I play a pure warrior. I just play what comes natural and don't focus on any skills to control my leveling, just like I'm supposed to according to Todd.

I got absolutely pwned by a Giant......then my 2nd Dragon killed me in 3 hits. I'm on lvl 8 now. I don't think the combat is 'way too easy.'

Skills continue to level, but you lose access to perks (unless you get them outside of leveling).
Oh no! Better work on those skills, then.

Ive been feeling the same way so when I ding on alchemy or speech I go and find a trainer for my weapon skills. Downside it's pricy and I'm leveling faster, but my skills are pretty even.

True, but if I'm level 17 with level 10 combat skills, won't some of the creatures that level-up when I do be much stronger than me? I may be wearing some good armor, but I won't be doing much damage, especially if there's more than one. Or is that not how it works?

If your smithing your own gear, I say make enchanting your new bestfriend :)

I installed the mod from this thread (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1260566-relz-slower-skill-gain/) because my first char was like level five after finishing the intro. Now, after visiting two cities (well, three if you count the intro one), killing a dragon, cleaning out a dungeon and retrieving some tree-saving thing, I'm only level three and I'm loving the slower pace!

Then again, I'm not a big fan of being some overpowering uber-character.

if your crafting skills are going up fast, make more expensive items to sell and spend the money on training a combat skill. 5 combat skill increases and 5 crafting increases per level should be ok right?

Everything seems to be slowing down now at level 21, my one handed skill goes up much slower yet lockpicking and smithing still seem to go up rather fast at around 50, wheras the magic schools seem to raise really slowly which is odd considering they are mostly around 15-30.

lvl 29 with massive portions of the map and big cities sill untouched :X Enemies scale with you at a pretty decent rate so your never going to really stomp on things unless your min/maxing.

I would suggest just not going out of your way to level skills you don't really use, like don't train heavy armor or 2 handed weapons for a mage unless you plan on using them!

I may have spoken too fast, actually, since all I did up to lvl 12 was bandits and wild life. I tore through bandits with my two handed sword, and the dragon fell rather easily, but I've since been molested by giants and ice trolls, so I guess I was just fighting opponents that were beneath me? Since they don't lvl up with me, they deserve to be hung up on my greatsword I suppose. Still seems a bit easy, but I'll go look for harder opponents instead.

I've leveled so fast at times that I havent had time to use my 5 training sessions for a level. It svcks that I can't look at my skills without having to level up when I'm ready for the next level or be able to have saved "level ups" and choose to only level up one at a time.

Oh and I'm a level 57 despite that I've only finished 1 or 2 of the main quests. I just roam the contryside instead, it's much more enjoyable to me.

Will you keep leveling up if you don't use your level up? Like, can you level up twice without having improved your stats from the first level up? Or does it halt your skill improvement until you hit 'level up'?
