thanks for the info. I guess I was a little disappointed that, for 150$, Bethesda didn't put very much effort into making sure the pieces connected properly. The dragon is pretty bad-ass though.
The dragon is bad-ass, I would have paid more for a metallic dragon and I am trying to figure out a way to rig the dragon to sit on the corner of my Sony LCD TV. The wing positioning (which is very cool) limits the reusability of the dragon outside of the base

All that said, I could not get mine to line up exactly as indicated in the picture but I think the way I have it sitting on the base actually displays it better than the supplied picture so I am happy. As far as I am concerned, if it sits on the base, looks good, is easy to place and remove then it is win/win.
The next question is how do I get one of the Nord statues so I can drop it in my living room
