The little things you appreciate

Torchbugs, luna moths, and other small insects and wildlife. They really add a lot to the atmosphere, especially at night with the glowing ones.

The carriage system for travel between main cities was also a nice edition, especially for those opposed to fast travel.

Mudcrabs look great.

Better AI for animals - wolves don't attack unless you get near.

It completely surprised me when I was just chilling by a tree stump, and out of the corner of my eye it looks like the trunk was moving; then I began to look closer to find that there are hundreds of ants trailing across the stump; it was a real immersion moment because I kind of detected everything with my senses just like I would in real life.

Yeah the wildlife is indeed very cool. I'm always exclaiming things aloud to my girlfriend, even though she doesn't care hahaha. ^ Like the termites/ants whatever on the tree stumps when I noticed that.

I got an effect called Voice of the Sky from visiting all the Etched Tablets on the path up to High Hrothgar. It means animals don't attack or run away from you. You can walk up to that bear and have a real good look without it eating your face. You can inspect the wolf, the spider, the elk. It's cool to be able to do that.

Man, I love this game. For every little thing I'd change there's more that make mo go "wow, cool"

Really? I read all of the tablets until I died, then I didnt read those I had read on the 2nd trip, and only read the next ones.. So in reality I should have that effect too, nooo!!!
But then again, I like that wildlife doesnt completely ignore? me

Much better scripting so far for dungeons, which are much more varied. Entering a mine and hearing the bandits arguing. Immersive. Better than the random convos in Oblivion that usually made little sense.

A person I wronged sending thugs to kill me later. That was cool. My avatar didn't think so.

Agree on the carriage system; I never fast travel and would have had to wait on a mod for it otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that's where it came from. It's only a temporary effect...I like that they don't ignore me too, but it's cool for a time, to really see what they did with the animals. There was a rock...I thought it was a rock...but it was a sabrecat hehe. He didn't try to eat me either :)

Little things I appreciate? My [censored]. Not sure what that has to do with Skyrim though.

Enough about the center of the universe though, lets talk about the game. I really like that there are different types of people traveling the roads. It makes the world seem so much more alive. I also love it when I see wolves taking down a deer or something like that.

I love all the random crap we can find. Even things like broom sticks lol... no use at all but i just collect them and have them around my house. This is one of the things that first got me into Morrowind back in 2003.

I love reading books in the game and catching salmon from the rivers. it all adds to the experience that is the Elder Scrolls.

I'm constantly being surprised by all the small details they added to Skyrim, like the butterflies, moths, bees, birds...it's just amazing. I almost drowned while trying to get close to salmon that were jumping out of the water. :teehee:

One small game mechanic that I appreciate a LOT is the tiny text that says [empty] when you're checking the contents of containers. Also, flowers actually disappear when you pick them. Whew! Now I'm not wasting a million clicks, looking into the same darn barrel to see if I already took the ball of yarn out of it.

Some of the subtle sound effects are amazing too. In the first dungeon I explored, there was an area of connecting caverns. There was a faint howling sound in the area, like wind, but once in awhile it would start to sound like voices muttering - and I would spin around, expecting to see something or someone behind me.

- While typing this post, I just read the post about the ants on the tree stump...I'm going to look for that! Wow... *runs off to explore Skyrim* :ahhh:
