Advertising Youtube Channel

Ello everyone. This topic is not an advertisemant, though the title may imply, but rather a call for advice. I have recently started a Youtube channel for video game content a few months ago (which can be found in my signature) and have been having quite a blast with it. In three months, I have managed to grab 52 subscribers, thanks to getting the first video for several new games.

Despite this however, I have a slight problem. The first one is the fact that out of those 52 subscribers, only around 6-15 actually watch my videos on a consistent basis, unless I record some Minecraft (which is something that I am really not itnerested in playing right now). I also seem to be in a pretty piss-poor phase where for every time someone subscribes, someone else unsubscribers. While I am hoping this will eventually balance out the viewer/subscriber ratio, it can be quite concerning to see the numbers not rise after a period of time.

Finally, my biggest problem is that there is no new games that really interest me. All the ones I would have done videos for to get more views are being done by the bigger channels, therefore I choose to just play the game alone. At this moment, I am starting to play much older games that will no doubt not be searched for.

My question to you folks is, how would you go about advertising your channel if you had one? I notice that when I link a video that is appropiate to a topc on this forum, the views usually soar to about 30-60, which always brings a smile on my face, however I would like to get some subscribers out of that as well. I know for a fact that this forum is definetly not the best choice to advertise with, unless I wish to be mauled by a bear.

The only other way I know of to advertise my channel is by adding random ass people on Facebook and then linking my videos, but I don't want to be a [censored]. I ask for any of you that are pretty cunning in this sort of stuff for advice, as I wish to obtain UNLIMITED POWA- subscribers.

For the record, I don't make videos just because I want views and eventually money, I make them because its a fun hobby that can help prepare me for future careers.I also may use the channel to advertise my books in the distant future.

Feedback is very much appreciated!

I think, and I′m absolutely no expert, you should use a consistent name for your videos.

I noticed they are now named:
- Skyrim Playthrough, Episode 1: The first 30 minutes
- Skyrim Playthrough, Episode 1: I will not talk in the cutscene
- etc etc

I would name them Like this:
- Vidicus' Play: Skyrim Ep. 1, The first 30 minutes
- Vidicus' Play: Skyrim Ep. 1, I will not talk in the cutscene

This let's me know this is a video from YOU, without the need to read those tiny names below the video-header.

Also, I think that a 30 minute video for a game is way to long. I am not interested in watching someone play games for 30 minutes.
I am interested in seeing someone do stuff I did not know or make jokes about it in a short video.
Take your 30 minute skyrim video for example. You could cut it up into:
- Vidicus' Play: Skyrim Ep. 1: Intro scene (about 7 minutes)
- Vidicus' Play: Skyrim Ep. 1: Character creation & Escape (10 minutes)
- Vidicus' Play: Skyrim Ep. 1: Tutorial Dungeon (The rest of the time)

I also think you should cut out dull parts, like the part between the bear and the cave exit.

And last, I find videos with a purpose more interesting. I'm much more intrigued to keep watching if I know you are going to do quest X, instead of wondering around in a game world giving random comments. I don't want to see someone do random stuff in a game, I'd like to see someone do a quest, and give funny/helpful comments while doing so.

I think this is about as useful as I will get.
