There are many such questions. Here's some that I've asked:
Ham comes from pigs, beef comes from cows. So why is it called a hamburger if it's made of beef?
If a bookstand is a stand where you can buy a book, why isn't a handstand a stand where you can buy a hand? (and you can reverse that question)
Why is the flight recorder of an aircraft called "the black box" when it's really bright orange?
Why is it called a pair of pants when it's actually a single garment?
Why are suits put in a garment bag while garments are put in a suitcase?
Why is it called cargo when transported by ship and a shipment when transported by land?
If firefighters fight fires and crime fighters fight crime, what do freedom fighters fight?
Olive oil comes from olives and peanut oil comes from peanuts. What does baby oil come from?
Why do "overlook" and "oversee" mean the opposite?
Why do "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same?
When to objects almost collide, it's called a "near miss". Shouldn't it be called a "near hit" since that's pretty much what it means to "almost collide"?
Why do we have to write our name down in order to sign up?
I'll post more if/when I think of them. Assuming this doesn't get locked...
