I seem to be having Firefox (v 9.01 on Win7/64) do a lot of "Stop responding...." lately, and the one common factor I have identified so far is that I had open a page to bethesda's forums (usually Skyrim forums)

Is anybody else seeing this??

Is there some kind of issue with FF 9.01??

UPDATE : with the 2 add-ons disabled, I haven't had a problem the last few days, which kind of svcks, cause I really want my pop-up blocker back on (but I suspect it is the actual problem)

No problems here.

Don't see how any self-respecting PC'er could use anything other than Mozilla tbh.

Firefox is pretty stable for me, and I usually browse with like 8 tabs open (multitasking FTW.) Like Zyghart said, check your addons and see if they're up to date.

I have been having problmes with firefox recently as well. It takes awhile for it to have its speed up to normal, but it only takes about 15 seconds for it to start running properly.

However I have had this annoying thing with netflix on firefox for awhile. It keeps telling me to restart firefox in 36 bit mode to be able to run netflix properly, and when I restart it, the whole internet crashes for about 3 minutes.

Because Chrome is available?

I used to use Firefox, but the constant crashing and hang-ups eventually got to me. OP, I don't think it's the forums. Try reinstalling Firefox without any extensions, and then slowly add new ones, one at a time. If you must use Firefox.

Or go to Firefox button -> Help -> Restart with Add-ons Disabled

I use the newest version of FF in the house and it constantly "Stopped Responding" on here, Community Discussion and the Fallout section.
I use the old version on my work laptop and it works perfectly.

I still think a fresh install would be better. When I was still using Firefox, I would reinstall periodically, and that would help keep it optimized. I don't know what the problem is, but FF seems to have some kind of a long-term memory leak or something.

I agree it's why I switched to Chrome. Which now becomes laggy as hell, maybe it's because it is running for 12/13 hours in a row...

I'm using version 9.0.1 as well and haven't noticed any issues of late.

This is not a browsers war topic - lay off.

OP, I use Firefox without any problems and am probably on these forums a lot more than the majority here so I suggest the problem is at your end, not the forums.

I disabled 2 add-ons: Ad-Block 2.03 and Better Privacy 1.68 ("Super Cookie" blocker) to see what happens. Still have Norton for AV. I'll try this for a few days and see - I never did crash all that often, but FF had been really stable the few months!
