Im pretty far into the story and fought plenty of Dragons,but none of them ever crash into the ground like all the Trailers and Gameplay previews. I get their health really low and they just land,never the epic crash.

Is it possible or was it a scripted thing?

I've made them crash in that epic way, so it is possible (just rare).

Out of my 22 Dragons killed thus far, one did that.
So yes, possible, just rare.

Yup, After shooting lots of arrows, one came crashing down into the mountain side. It was satisfying.

Yeah, but I think certain circumstances must fall in line first. The biggest one probably being the location. I doubt that would happen on the side of a mountain or in a rocky area.

edit: apparently they can crash into mountain sides.

I do know it generates a dirt effect on the terrain when they crash.

I have had the crash landing once - seemed a bit jerky - I am thinking it may be semi-scripted and they can only `crash` at certain places as it did add a terrain deformation where the Dragon slid along the ground. To be honest it happened so quickly that I didn`t really pay attention.

It happens, but as other have said, it's rare.

It's also very awkward and seems to happen randomly. It's happened to me twice, and both times I did nothing to provoke it. One minute it seemed to be flying around fine, the next it just decides to crash for no apparent reason. No arrows or magic, and obviously they were in the air at the time so melee wasn't an option.

The one constant for me is that they were both <50% health when they crashed.

yeah. All you got to do is damage him enough him with a arrows or spells whilst he is swooping past overhead. You will know when he is going to crash because as he is swooping by he will do an animation as if a boulder just landed on top of him then he will find an open section of ground and crash down

I had it happened, I thought the dragon was trying to sky dive/body slam me but after it did it it left the dragon stunned momentarily letting me get several good whacks at it's head "
