How Do I Unlock Characters In Soul Calibur for the Iphone?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 3:33 pm

Normally Google is my friend on something like this.

But all I'm getting are links to reviews.

How do you unlock more characters in the iOS version of Soul Calibur?

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

Well it would seem the same way you unlocked characters back on the old Sega Dreamcast:

Clear Arcade on 'Medium' difficulty.

This unlocks another character and the person you completed it with becomes available in Exhibition Mode.

Brilliant coversion for the iphone.

Now if they would only hurry up and make "Morrowind: GOTY Edition" for the iphone I'd never need another App again.

Is this the original arcade game that was also released on the PSX in the 90s? Awesome game. Unlocking characters was weird though.

Is this iOS only or is it on Android too? I'd love to get it.

This is "Soul Calibur" as released in the arcades and on the Dreamcast.

This will help you identify which one it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul_Calibur

As mentioned in the post above, we've figured out how to unlock characters.

Cheers

Ah, ok, cheers for the link. The game I was referencing appears to have been released a few years before this one. I just remembered that unlocking characters in it was really weird and difficult, and that the unlockable characters were just the regular characters with exclamation marks after their names (Sophitia could unlock Sophitia! and Sophitia!!).

This one seems to have a more straightforward way of progressing.

I love the first Soul Calibur game, out of all the SC games I love the Art Gallery music in this game. I wish they bring it over to PSN, I know it's on Xbox Live.

That would be great, I've never had the chance to play the first one. Do Ivy's boobs defy gravity in it as well?

Ah. Nice to know I'll have to try extra hard against her if I want to get past those damn shields.

Ivy was a decent character to use in SC 1 and 2 but after 3 and 4 her control scheme messed her up so much she became almost unplayable.

I used her fairly often in 2, but quit out of my inability to perform those insane grabs at the bottom of her move list. It was Tekken 10-hit combo moves syndrome all over again. I took a liking to Cerventaes because I'm cheap. Yosimitsu is probably the most effective character if you put in the insane amount of effort it takes to master him. My default now is Raphael, because those dodge-counter moves are a life saver.

Ahhh Cervantes---I was a monster with him in Soul Calibur, one time (when I had friends that came over) I challanged one to the game---I kick their flank in under three moves . Now it seems Nightmare is my new boss character. I used him alot in SC 4.

Yeah, his punch moves are quick and sense his sword is so huge you can use his knock downs before anybody gets too close. Only problem is if you go into a combo and the opponent dodges at least one of your swings you're in trouble.

I could see that happening on the ipad, not so much the iphone.

It's possible; I have Tenchu: Stealth Assassins on my Galaxy S. It's just extremely difficult to play because it uses an overlay which resembles a Playstation controller. Getting the hang of it can be rough but combat in Morrowind is certainly less intensive so... it's hard to say.

Also, a little fear I have about SC V is that everybody and their mother will be using Ezio, who is in my opinion one of the most overrated characters from one of the most overrated franchises of all time.
