Can not post links

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 12:12 pm

Hello everyone. I'm new to these forums and I'm having trouble posting links. I can't find a solution in the help topics or through a forum search so I decided to post here and ask for help. Whenever I try and post or preview a new thread with a link in it I get an error message telling me that I do not have permission to post links. It doesn't seem to matter which section I try and post under either. I've tried in the general discussion section and in the Mods section. Thanks in advance for any help!

You need to wait till 5 days or a week after you join and have made at least 30 5 posts.
It's to prevent spam and other nuisances .

Edit: I doubt this has been updated yet but here is the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/

Welcome to the forums
I guess it's because quotes includes a link to the quoted post.
Anyway, new members can't post links until they have been registered for 7 days AND they have made 5 posts. So you have to wait a while

Is this a new feature? I don't remember this when I joined. Not that I expect you to know.

Wow! Thanks for the lightning fast responses and the welcome to the community. Kind of an annoying rule but understandable. I guess I'll have to wait it out and find a few subjects to post on in the mean time. Thanks again! FUS ROH DAH!

It makes sense.
Some forums have closed boards to non members to keep spammers and advertisers out.
They (the spammers) have become this horrid.

I think it came with the new update to the site.

New to you and new to me are different things. It's been through at least three updates since I've been here. I still have a soft spot in my heart for what it was when I joined.

Wow. It's been nearly three years...

Only in how new, besides that I meant this newest update to the "Warrior" theme. I barely even remember the previous theme even though I had a hatred of it, but now. GO WARRIOR GO! :D

That's precisely the reason for it.

Eh, I liked the previous version better. The bar followed me then, unlike now. I feel so unloved.

Anyway, Nostalgia trip over, back to other threads.

We had a lot of problem with ad spammers, some of those ads were inappropriate content, so for the security and safety of all members the Newbie and Member group have to have been registered for 7 days AND they have made 5 posts before they can post links. The PM facility is also severely limited for those members. A shame that we had to do that but a necessity.
