Really, it is. It dawned on me this morning. This horrible mess of html AND BBcode is slowly driving me to drink puppy dog blood and unicorn tears cocktails. Do we really want this, forum? Do we?! Because I don't know about you, but puppy dog blood is disgusting. I mean, the new layout and skin are great. Nothing but praise about these. But that text editor I'm writing in right now (chugs puppy blood cocktail) is the most inconvenient, convoluted mess I had the displeasure of meeting. I hate it with the blazing passion of a thousand vengeful suns. You know, these jerks from the Mario 3 desert levels? These vengeful suns. It needs to go down in a fire.

If you click the "toggle editing mode" button on the top left it returns to something pretty close to the original, although for some reason text is darkened out until you click in the window.

There's still quirks in my experience: randomly decides to input my enter key press in a spot other than where the text insert point is really drives me nuts sometimes and seems to be completely unpredictable in when it happens/what causes it. Though the majority of the problems are related to rich-text mode. It'd be nice if there were bbcode insert options in plain-text mode as well as if it could remember I want plain-text mode past browser closes.

But adding spoiler tags wrecks the html in anything you wrap in them something fierce. Example:

I agree, the new text editor is a bit of a pain. I've started writing posts in Notepad / LibreOffice.

I love WYSIWYG. Just toggle off the editor when you want to paste something in standard formatting.
