Skills Removed?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 6:33 pm

Wow? I did not realize just how much would be missing from this game until I played it? First off and most notable is Amorer? I just cleared out Hobs Fall Cave and I head back to Whiteurn to repair my weapons and armor and guess what? No repair hammers in game? Why include Smithing and Leather tan beds when there are NO armorer skills? Others I have noticed is a lack of arcobats, when I first started my game I hopped all around the map hoping to increase my acrobatids skill to no avail? I dunno about othger people here at the forums but I will miss some of these skills removed? I normally don't play as a mag so I wouldn't know the effect a lack of mysticsm magic would have maybe they can tell me? I'm not hatting on the game I think its great its just that I miss these skills andhope I'm not abone?

Smithing replaced armorer, and is better. Acrobatics was always stupid.

Ha!

You were hoping to spend your time hopping all over the place. That was one of my least favorite mechanics of all time.

Smithing replaced armorer. The game is focused on improving rather than repairing armor. Mysticism effects have been moved to other schools. Acrobatics being removed was lame IMO, because now I can't play an agile warrior or thief, but theres no use crying over spilt milk.

I for one don't miss having to repair my armor. It was silly, and after a while your repair hammers stopped breaking, so it was pointless to boot.

Acrobatics and Athletics were just... Ugh. Pretty sure a lot of people are glad those are gone. They were annoying, made no sense, and were often immersion/game breaking.

I don't miss item condition, it's one of the few things they streamlined that I approve of. Skipping on water as a master of Acrobatics was however, hella cool.

So you're missing all the worst parts of previous games? Congrats! You are the 1%.

I agree it is fruitless crying over split milk but whereas I could reapir my items on the fly in Morrowind and Oblivion, I now have to find a smithing table to "make them better"? I donot understand all the people thinking acrobatics was lame it was a completeley legit stat? Think jumping over city walls and halfway up mountains? Come across a giant you can't beat? With a high enough acrobarts skill a few hops and you're over the horizon and leave him in the dust?

Hand to hand is another one I miss, can't play a monk in skyrim. Hopefully they bring monks back with a DLC.

You no longer have to repair your items at all.

And have you ever thought for one minute how stupid someone would look running down the road jumping constantly? They should have added an NPC doing that in Skyrim just to show us how ridiculous we all used to look.

I just really hated how you had to raise acrobatics. If I wanted a sort of acrobatics/speed based character, I felt like I was obligated to bunny hop everywhere I went.

You don't have to make your armour better if you don't want to. You can even find the better versions elsweyr, in dungeons and for sale. Think of it as having a ton of more armour. The only difference is that you can directly upgrade it instead of having to find a new piece.

I think Beth thought leaping over mountains was a bit too unrealistic...

An aside:
So I'm in Whiterun and say to myself..."Look at these kids...running all over the place"....Oh Wait !
I run most of the time.

I didn't mind carrying repair hammers, and I usually had Armorer as a major skill in MW because it raised your Strength...but it's refreshing that weapons don't degrade in Skyrim.
