I was talking to someone about someone a long time back and they mentioned a word that reminded me of something completely unrelated. I cannot remember the word, but it was kinda weird.
One of them i know i have is the word "Raunchy" reminds me of lettuce. I have no clue as to why.
I dont even like lettuce...

I am wondering though, what weird things, words, sayings and places remind you of random items or places in space or time?

Everything reminds me of everything really. I mean it could be something totally random, a smell, a taste, a sound, a word, a conversation, a sight...

The smell of the fresh plastic on a new video game controller always reminds me of my first Xbox for some reason, I got Morrowind and an Xbox for Christmas and kept smelling the controller and that's the memory I've had since (even though I've had plenty of systems before the Xbox, that one stuck).

Snoop Dogg reminds me of Easter and Resident Evil because one Easter I got the album 'The Last Meal' and listened to it hundreds of times while playing Resident Evil Nemesis on the PSone.

The smell of boiling mushrooms makes me think of food

I had an ex who wore vanilla body...er...spray? or whatever it is girls wear to have that aromatic scent wherever they go. But for the longest time, the smell of Vanilla always reminded me of her.

Perfume?

Music/songs and smells, they both remind me of some good things and some bad things.

Things remind me of all sorts of things.
Getting up reminds me of how good sleep is and why I should have woken up.
Any odd looking or cute-ish cartoon monsters remind of Pokemon or Digimon
Deja'vu reminds me of dreams I've had - Oh how confused I get when it happens.
Some apple scented perfume, in an apple shaped bottle reminds me of an ex.
Comedies/Cartoons remind me that life shouldn't be all serious and dull.
When someone mentions "chubby-chaser" it reminds me of a time a girl it'd rather forget
The women in work and the way she speaks to me reminds me of my mum - I'm the baby of this place

There is plenty of other things but I can't think of things that remind me of those things.

Music reminds me of some strange things. The song Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden reminds me of when I took my girlfriend on a picnic to Beachy Head in Eastbourne.... I have no idea why?

I started to get trained up on a new part of my job at the same time I was putting lots of hours into New Vegas, and now I always think of NV when I have to do it.

The smell of suntan lotion reminds me of my Mum.

Sometimes I will get serious deja vu out if nowhere and I don't even know what I did before. I just think to myself that I have done something like this before... but what?
