Anonymous has struck again

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:29 pm

Article from MSN, posted roughly 40 minuets ago. My apologies if there is a discussion about this already:
http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/10/10376305-tango-down-anonymous-claims-attacks-on-cia-alabama-state-sites

To keep this as a discussion, do you guys think the whole Anonymous thing will ever end?

I think a better punishment would be to lock them in a dungeon with a high end PC with only New Vegas to play...

Release day New Vegas :chaos:

Well as long as they are doing something "noble", they might as well steal a few hundred identities while they are at it... I dont think we can trust the CIA or Them. Just what I think anyways

I don't get whos side they're on.

They take down government websites and "fight the man". Then they attack PSN and others that involve ppl who are just trying to have fun.

Even if Sony is for SOPA and thats the reason they attacked PSN, that doesn't really win any supporters.

Wow. I'm having a kind of weird flashback to june and Lulzsec. Same targets, same rationalization, same method, same questionable harvesting of people's personal data.

On that note, here in France, the governement pushed through - against senate advice - a legislation that would authorize centralization of everybody's data, collected through the new-fangled ID.

... So that your stuff gets stolen easier by those fine folks ? Seriously.

I think that'd be beyond their abilities. Overloading the servers hosting publicly available information is easy enough. Penetrating an intelligence agency's data in general and mission-critcal information in particular is leagues away from that. Sure, they've also cracked a few government systems, but those wouldn't have nearly as high a security budget, and human engineering -often the easiest way into a system- would be far easier.
