Why is this a spoiler?

I can't say without revealing it here but it shows a pretty significant quest reward.

It's kinda kinda like dragons being in the trailer of skyrim being a spoiler, nobodies knows where why or how you get it, that doesnt already know, by this video.

I would have preferred finding out for myself that he was in game. My bad for clicking the link I know but still should come with a spoiler tag.

Definitely a spoiler :(

I didn't know about this "reward"

I am generally trying to stay away from videos, as I like to find out about in game stuff on my own.

Wow people need to make some shooting classes to learn that gravity pulls any projectile they fire.

The guy in the video didn't seem to be shooting from that far away.

I have not really experimented too much with long range archery, but I assume it is similar to Oblivion. You move your aim higher the further away the target it. I have just unlocked the "zoom" perk, so I will have a little experiment later!

The problem is that after about 50 yards, arrows refuse to interact with npcs and monsters. There is a very silly and short maximum range hard coded regardless of how well you aim stopping you from shooting things far away.

I think it's just a lot harder to hit the target, it is possible because earlier I was on a mountain and a dragon lost sight of me and flew over to the other mountain a significant distance away from where I was. I shot a few arrows and only one hit, I know it hit because I got the sneak bonus message, I had to aim a good inch or so above him on the screen though.

That's strange. My character level 5 uses a bow, with the left mouse button pulling back the bowstring to max - I've not really noticed any kind of drop, and I've sniped several NPCs from quite a distance, including two headshots that I thought were not going to hit but did.

I've not shot at anything moving, just stationary targets maybe that makes a difference.

The arrows don't disappear; they just travel through targets and hit the ground around them - the monsters or whatever you are shooting at hear the arrows hitting the ground around them and thus you get a sneak bonus - trust me I have shot over 200+ arrows at targets so far including stationary mammoths. Track the arrows as they fall you will see that at a certain distance they simply disappear through npcs and hit behind them.

Hopefully this wil be fixed in some patch rather sooner then later

Agreed, still using the bow as my weapon of choice, but the range problem means its less useful than hoped because I have to be that much closer to use it :/

How about the magick spells?
I've only played for about an hour but I've noticed my fire spell is more like a flamethrower instead of shooting a ball of fire like in oblivion or morrowind.
In oblivion and morrowind the range seems te be unlimmited but here in skyrim I can't damage an archer who's not that far away.
Or is it just me being only level1?

Wait for the fireball spell, and I've noticed there's like a maximum range for spells as well. I shot a fireball and it clearly went through the enemy i shot at. I really hope this gets fixed or some mod fixes it.
