is leveling up way too fast?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:47 am

is it just me or is leveling up in Skyrim wayyyy too fast?? I'm already level 9 and have yet to make it to Greybeards (I keep finding dungeons along the way, and doing them).......

in Oblivion it felt like it take forever to level up!

I'm just curious cuz I am going to assume that the game gets harder, because I don't want to be overpowered halfway through the main quest line...
:P

anybody else feel the same way??
is it supposed to be this way or am I overkilling??

I also haven't done much and I'm at 25 but I find it slows down when you get higher or it just could be me thinking that lol.

Not using any skill leveling speed bonuses actually felt better paced imho.

Yup it is.

Gone are the days where you put a fishing weight over the "C" button and go to sleep to level your destruction overnight.

I think it is the way you are playing the game. I haven't started the main quest yet, have spent 45 hours in game and have leveled up about 20 times. I don't call that leveling too fast, for me personally anyway.

well I've had a couple of tough battles..and a fort i discovered had some powerful mages, so I'll go back there later.

but overall I'm REALLY liking this game.

I just wish they would fix the jaggy shadows problem. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the game!
:)

oh and that damn main theme song is always running in my head when I go to bed at night! curse jeremy Soule for making such an awesome soundtrack!!
lol

you level very fast with the guardian stone buff. i would recommend not using it, that way your skills will be higher and your level will be more appropriate.

It slows down a lot later. If its too quick, also switch out the Guardian stones for something different.

After 35 hours I am level 35, and I am not using any Guardian stones. I have also not done any smithing/enchanting boosting. So yeah, it feels pretty fast to me. I don't mind TOO much though, because it gives me an excuse to start a new character, which I love doing.

Now that I'm on my fourth character, I switch stones a lot more. I find that this helps even things out.

It did seem kinda fast for me until around 15. But now at 35, it's calmed down and goes at an acceptable pace.

After 20 it slows down a bit

After 30 it REALLY slows down.

I just hit 40 and I'm leveling block by sitting in a corner against a draugr, with my block button (Left trigger for Xbox) held down by a rubber band.

Block is sooo slow to level....Been at this for about an hour and a half and I've only gone from 73-94. I can't imagine leveling block normally.

If you want to slow down use the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Steed_Stone....Very useful for dungeoneering.

My biggest complaint about the leveling is, that I just don't want to suddenly find all sorts of armor and weapons, which should be unique and expensive. I actually hate finishing a dungeon and finding a weapon made of ebony and then just an hour more playing, I see it everywhere.

I've played 34 hours and I'm only level 16, so no, not too fast.

I've mainly spent my time exploring though, so maybe running through quests and such makes it seem much faster. Overall - it's a good balance.

I'm on my second character, haven't even finished 'Dragon Rising' and I'm around level 13 or 14 (about 9 hours in). To be fair, about 3 of those levels came from getting my Smithing up to level 50 so I could boost my Orc Greatsword.
