Vehicular mayhem for the 360

So yesterday I played soccer in Forza 4 for the first time and it was a blast. A bunch of nice looking cars (with teams identified by blue or red paint) zoom back and forth on a concrete soccer pitch trying to knock an oversized soccer ball into the opposing teams goal. There were plenty of crashes and massive pileups as everyone frantically raced toward the ball. It wasn’t so much about skill, but rather it was about good old beat each other up fun.

Playing this got me in the mood for more vehicular mayhem. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good multiplayer car / vehicle game that is more about fun and mayhem than skill (possibly with a variety of mini games and objectives). I’ve played both Blur and Split / Second but neither really did it for me. I haven’t played a Burnout game since the original but I never really liked it then anyway. I guess what I’m really looking for is Mario Kart, so does the 360 have an equivalent with a fun, easy to pick up chaotic experience?

Hmm... here are a couple games off the top of my head. Full Auto is a superb combat racing game, one of my favorites on the system. Though I am not too sure on the online community, so if it is a big component to your racing experience, then I would rent it first. Then there is Burnout Revenge. I know you said you didn't quite like the series, but this is an arcadey and satisfying experience that is far removed from the open world Burnout Paradise. Another game by them that came out recently is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I personally haven't picked up the game, but based on the gameplays and reviews, it looks to be an entry in the series that is actually good. The most recent racing game that I played (the demo, anyway) is Driver: San Francisco. It doesn't have vehicular mayhem by any means, but it is quite intriguing, as you can shift into other people's cars and take control using some sort of telekinesis, which makes for some interesting gameplay. Sorry I couldn't have been more help, but I am more knowledgeable on the PS3 racing scene, my 360 having a second RRoD after all.

Twisted Metal.

I dunno about the new one, but Twisted Metal 2 was the definition of vehicular mayhem.

I almost suggested that, but the OP is on 360...

Seems like Forza 4 really is Top Gear's game.

OP: I haven't played the first, but Burnout Revenge is one of the most satisfying racing games around.
