Game to easy?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 12:01 pm

So, im currently at level 34, with 100 in enchanting and blacksmitthing. Made and upgraded the dragonplate to the max. So i have 657 in armor rating, and both my daedric axes have a combined damage of 444... im forced to play on master difficulty to not 1hit dragons...
And even in Master, 90% of all humanoids i meed, i just look at them, and they die. The only "challange" i get are from the elder dragons.

So, anyone else not satisfied with the difficulty and strength of oponents? :/

PS: I LOVE the game, but its just getting to easy, the higher i go :(

Well, as obvious smithing and enchanting can make you way overpowered. Personally I have never been interested in even trying out smithing/enchanting etc in any rpgs so far.. have to say I`m glad I don`t fancy doing that especially now that it`s quite obvious that you can make yourself godlike in Skyrim.

Cool, another dude that exploited smithing and claims the game is too easy. Should be a sub-section for these topics alone.

well, smithing is part of the game, it is wanted that way and it is wanted to be used...so its valid to say that it makes the game to easy!

The game is too easy to exploit, is perhaps the best way of putting it...

You're perfectly capable of making it challenging for yourself by not taking advantage of poorly balanced features like smithing.

It seems to me from your post, and I don't mean this in a negative way, that you've opted to go for a ubertank powergaming build to crush everything and are now complaining that you got what you wanted.

Most characters are not so focused on a sole purpose of doing damage/taking damage, so the difficulty is designed for this.

You went for a character that could do immense amounts of damage, while soaking it up. Congrats, you achieved it.

If you want difficulty, why not try a character who focuses on stealth. One of my most fun playthroughs of Oblivion were as a cowardly pacifist Khajiit who ran away from everything (managed to complete the game with 0 kills).

I think the game is harder than previous installments. Previously I could just Whack anything until it died. Now I actually need to block power attacks. Combat system is better, but I do not like simplifying everything else.

There are people who want to be a god at endgaming and then there are a couple of players missing the challenge.
Especially in Morrowind there were several ways of becoming invincible even at low level. In Skyrim there are such ways as well...

Hope that doesn′t sound too offensive but if you decide to reach max potencial in any form you you have to live with the consequences.

Well there is two ways to correct this, first you can take off your armour and run around naked or reroll and play higher difficulty. Expert seem to be more balance in most situations.

I was god at level 20-25 in Oblivion so I think Skyrim is a little better. Mods will make it harder. Get rid of regen health, make enemies higher level, make some super bosses. Add in armor degrading with no repair hammers and you have a whole new game right there. Imagine having to travel back to town to fix your armor then your super armor would only be good for a while and you might have to put on some rags you find in combat. Disable fast travel, etc. Think how scared you would be traveling back to a town on foot no fast travel in the wild with broken armor and a sword about to break.

Beth makes great games but mods take things to a more personal level so you can build the perfect game to suit yourself. I'd like to start out with 1 on all stats too. That would make it way harder but allow for more perks in the end :)

The real trick was to NOT level up, ever, but Mankor was the hardest part, you could run past everything else.

If I recall correctly I used magic to command the other people in the room and ran around protecting and healing them during the fight.... philosophically it could be argued I caused his death, but Oblivion didn't count it so I didn't either :P

Took a LOT of retries thou, .. a lot.

by default the difficulty level is set for 6 years old kid, anyone who played Oblivion must rise it without any fear

You might have all that neat gear and all but you WILL run into instances where you are going to have your ass handed to you. Most of the opponets in the game are a set lvl. Bandits will always be bandits and die in 1 or 2 hits, but then you`ll have bosses that can spawn they are alot harder. Last night i went into a dungeon at lvl 43 thinking I `ll just wipe this out real fast. I died about 20 freaking times , alot of the higher lvl opponents use all kinds of dd potions and spells that can make 300+ hp go away in seconds. Now dungeons like that aren`t super common but the more you explore the more chances you have of encountering something like that.

Today I was working on raising my 2 handed skill and a Briarheart one shot me and I `m in full ebony and have close to 350 hp.

Thats why i would love to se even bandids scale to level, and not have set level, so it would be harder for everyone, even me who used 2 fraking days or close to 20 hours ingame to level both enchanting and smithing to get what i wanted!

And about exploiting, how can you call it exploiting, when all you need to both level smithing, enchanting and so on can be found, it just takes time. And it's not my fault that i can enchant a ring, neck, som clothing and some gloves with 25% smithing improvement, and wear all those 4 items, and maks out improving by 100% ekstra, giving me godlike stats.
It can be done, so i did it.

Be less of a nerd and play for fun, not like this a MMO and you need to spend hours and hours crafting to be the best. I just finished certain quest that took all my equip away, I started exploring with barelly nothing on me and it was awesome to complete some ruins with nothing but some fur and a rusty axe.
