I seriously can't figure out what the deal is. I expected the game to not run well after reading everything here in the forums but this is just insane. Something is very wrong.

I tried completely uninstalling all drivers and then reinstalling them with and without the special RAGE driver. Have also tried enabling and disabling every option in the CCC. Can't seem to get anything to make a difference. I am literally getting the lowest framerate imaginable. It takes anywhere from 1-2 minutes just to get the opening text to load and have the stasis pod visible with that blue icon pop up. I haven't gotten past that point because there is no reason to sit for 10 minutes and have next to nothing happen.

This is absolutely unacceptable from id and Bethesda. I realize games can have issues at launch but this is insane. Something is very very wrong with this game and it needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY.

We could at least get an honest apology from Carmack or somebody at id instead of a pathetic suggestion to make sure we have our drivers up to date.

Who cares about Doom 3 or Quake 4? I played those games years ago. If this doesn't get fixed quickly there is a really good chance I will be pushing for a refund. I have spoken very highly of John Carmack in the past, but that absolutely ends TODAY.

I agree they had a major disaster here. I wouldnt be surprised if there were mass refunds for this game.

Already own those games. Both worked at launch too.

Sadly experiencing the same thing here. Almost feels like the game is locking up every 1-2 seconds, sometimes it goes longer (5-6s) and then back to locking up.

Absolute disaster. Another person going for a refund and even worse, since I now know the quality of product that can be expected to be delivered, they've lost a future customer as well.

if you get 1 fps your windows has to be screwed up - gpu drivers

use driver sweeper from guru3d and reinstall the last release NON-BF3

you might try to disable pagefile and see what happens. Make sure you don't reach commit limit or your pc will freeze when out of memory.

We aren't morons. There are a ton of people on these forums, Steam forums, and other forums ALL experiencing this issue, and your solution has been tried and proven wrong.

It's already been proven this issue isn't solely GPU related, by a few community members.

The game needs a patch and the community needs an apology. Period.

Yeah, I did use driver sweeper, in safemode. I tried a handful of older versions of drivers as well. I also want to point out that I can still open up every other game that I currently have installed and get extremely good performance. At this point I am extremely confident that this is NOT a problem with my system and absolutely a problem with the game.

I have already submitted a support ticket to Steam and am asking for a refund. If id manages to fix all the issues with a patch then I MIGHT decide to repurchase the game but at this point I am royally pissed. I have been looking forward to this game for a long time and essentially just been pissed on. Carmack recommends people to install up to date drivers when there are serious problems with his game, what a [censored] [censored].
