nd Next make sure you are directx10 or higher. If not then upgrade if your system allows. ( i know the game is supposed to use Open GL but I bought a physical copy of the game and on the box it says enhanced for DX10, so i figure its worth a try)
rd Download the newest microsoft.net framework (this might not make a difference but it was a recomendation on steam forums?)
th Click on your RAGE icon in the game library and add luanch option "+set com_allowconsole 1" without quotes.
th Launch RAGE. (I am running a single gtx580 and this completely got rid of my screen tearing) if you are running a single card try enabling gpu threading. I did this on a whim and it completely removed the screen tearing.
th Load game or start new game. Once loaded use the ~ key to drop down the DEV console. Once there type "cvaradd g_fov +20" without quotes. This widens the feild of view and its my observation that it helped with the texture pop-in/loading lag. Not immensly but just enough to ignore it.
I dont know for sure if this is going to help anyone at all, but I wanted to post it. When I first luanched the game after install I couldnt even make out the shape of objects becuase they were so screwy but after doing these things I now have a tollerable experience in game. I hope some of you have some luck.
