Something that could have helped launch issues?

I saw late last night as I was trying to update my drivers, some NVidia tool to see if your system was "ready for Battlefield 3". Now, I know id doesn't beta test, BUT, knowing how feral most of us are (about their games) wouldn't it have been really helpful to have some type of tool that we could have downloaded to tell us if we were "ready" for Rage? Not sure about the rest of you, but with distortions and other graphic issues, it took me over an HOUR just to get out of the Ark.

Thoughts on providing some type of "send my specs to developer, if for nothing else to let them know X, Y, and Z want to buy our game"?

Watch all the promo vids - I see NONE of any of the type of glitches or distortions anyone has complained about - THAT is the product I want, THAT is what I paid for - and those vids are supposed to be "PC".. so you're right, they could have tested it on MORE systems, not just their development stuff, but when your recommended specs are so low end and awful, where do I find out the specs on what your promo vids were played on, because THAT is what you sold me, not something that looks like I'm playing a Game Cube game half the time. :(

Just an FYI, if you look at the write-up about those beta drivers for BF3 you also see this:

"The 285.38 beta drivers are also the ones to get if you’re planning to play id Software’s Rage next month."

http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/nvidia-geforce-r285-beta-driver-for-bf3-released

They work great for me and others. Trying to spread the word to see it'll fix some issues for more..

But I agree, if I wasn't playing the BF3 Beta, I would probably have missed it.

I recently installed those drivers myself since I was back using 280.something drivers. Figured they'd need an update, so I went and got the 285.38 drivers. Hopefully they'll help fix some of the minor issues I've had.

Yeah, I checked out the Beta drivers (I believe there are 2 since the latest WHQL) and I saw no mention of Rage, but I saw your press statement and it DID mention Rage.

Anway, here is the direct link for me, the 480 GTX on Win7x86: http://www.geforce.com/Drivers/Results/38107, but you'll notice that there is zero mention of Rage on the actual driver page, so I'm skeptical but still going to try them... thx.

The article I got is right from the main driver page, FYI. Right from your link. That's how I found it originally (I downloaded it for BF3, but wanted to see if it mentioned anything about Rage). At the bottom of "New in release 285.38" it says "Read more about R285 drivers"... that's the article I linked. So it's there, I just don't see why it wouldn't be a main headline for that release. It's not very obvious.
