I was a veteran vampire in oblivion where my character could quite literrally float across terrain. but sadly the first thing i did in skyrim was catch the vampire disease and wanted nothing to do with it so the second thing i did was get a potion of cure disease.
Its quite annoying not being able to fast travel during the day. but the drain ability seems like a formiddable spell.
im not sure if vampires get raised skills in destruction or conjuration or whatnot, but the biggest perk for me for being a vampire in oblivion was the increased acrobatics skill, thats out so
I think vampires get a boost to illusion magic. And frost resistence. And that's about it. I loved being a vampire in Oblivion, but they seem to have gotten the short end of the stick in Skyrim. I would have really liked to see an increase in hand to hand damage or something similar, some power boost to offset the disadvantages. The drain spell doesn't really cut it.
Does anyone have any insights in to vampires that show I'm wrong? I re4ally hope so.
Alternatively, werewolves are fricken' awesome. Total powerhouses that vamps used to be.
