There is a elf archer in the first little town that you visit, when you have to go visit that dudes sister at the lumber yard (sorry i dont know peoples names). If you go find the elf he will tell you he is in love with some girl, but there is also another guy who is after her. too He will ask you to give her a note pretending its from him and then she will dislike the other guy. If you then go back to the elf he will thank you and he will then follow you. He has the abilty to teach you archery skills so if you ask him to teach you for gold he will. Then all you do is ask to trade with him and then take all the money back and train again. You can do it 5 times per level so really gets up the levels fast and makes you awesome at archery.

No idea if this is already common knowledge, but does anyone else know of anyone else you can do this with?

Cheers

You really thought that you'd be the first to discover this?
I consider it cheating anyway

It is. And there are lots of trainers all over Skyrim for all your skills. I personally don't use them cause I don't want to level that fast.

The only time I do it is when I've gained a bunch of levels smithing or something. Just because the game scales despite me not gaining any skills in my basic stats. That's just to keep the game fun though.

did you not then use your higher smithing to "improve" your weapons and armour more which is an increase in your stats?
