The other day I was playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations online. Then the PS3 just shut off and the red light started blinking. This sent me into a panic because I've had the dreaded YLoD before. However it turned back on and has been working fine for the past two days. I had been playing for awhile (around 7 hours). So is it dying, or did it just get too hot at the time?
Interesting I didn't know PS3's got a light of death also.
hehe, yeah it has. However, when your PS3 actually dies it goes from green to yellow to red, and I think back to yellow and then finally to red again. That's when it's dead.
Not surprising that the typical faults of both consoles are caused by overheating, and it's only going to get worse with the next generation. So you shouldn't buy the next consoles until the improved models come out

My biggest problem is dust. I've lost two PS3's to that evil radioctive -p?ly-.
