i know Fallout NV was a buggy game, but when i played it, the load screens and slow combat was unbearable. recently it has been loading things slower as well

i know when i upgraded my hardrive for my computer, the speed increased dramatically

will it have the same affect for my PS3?

It could be lots of things including the disk drive or just the game itself. Have you tryed cleaning your drive, that made some of my PS3 game work a lil better.

It won′t solve your buggy problems. but it does decrease load times and stuttering.

Actually this really depends on the problems you are having. My PS3's HDD got corrupted at some point and I would constantly have to reformat it in the Recovery settings of the PS3. After doing this games would play great for a couple of weeks (like 2), but then problems would start to creep up again. The menu (XMB) would take a long time to load, games would take very long to load (especially if they had to read the HDD multiple times like Black Ops), and games like FONV would slow down HORRIFICALLY (I would have to wait in between going up and down on items in the Pipboy). Eventually I replaced the HDD and now it runs great! If the problems you are having sound similar to this I recommend replacing it, you can get an HDD for cheap on Ebay.

Upgrading to an SSD will though. Dropped my load times in Oblivion from 2-3 seconds to less than a second. 240gb SSD internal and 4 TB external is the best investment anyone can make in this regard for performance, security and mobility.

Just to let you know. Do not bump your posts, espically after 2 minutes of making it. You did it twice, it the times are correct. This is a good way of getting your thread locked. :)

You can install a Solid State Hard Drive to a PS3? Wow I should consider this then for my PS3.
