Mod Request - Jumping

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:08 pm

I'd like to request a mod that allows items to be enchanting to increase jump height. I'm not saying we need to fly, but at least jump high enough to give us Rangers and Thieves the ability to leap atop a boulder before raining arrows down, etc. Or even jump over a small river...

Thoughts?

I appreciate it.

If you have the ability to jump on top of boulders you normally wouldn't have had access to, which means the mobs probably aren't able to get up there too, doesn't that kinda make the ability.....overpowered, at least I think that's the word I'm looking for. Just my opinion though.

I see what you mean, but it worked well in Oblivion without being overpowered. Besides specific uses, I do feel that cutting the ability to increase jumping height or (overall) run speed) hurts us ranger/thief character. Different strokes, different folks I suppose.

The built in god mode is overpowered as is the Bag of Holding mod in Oblivion. But, to be honest, that's not really the point. Some folks just like to mess around, some like to role play, and so on. It's not really an issue. Being overpowered is something the player decides for themselves and some may still enjoy it even if something is overpowered.

Anyways, on topic, something like this should be fairly simple to implement if there's something like a gravity strength variable or jump power or something that is specific to the player or something similar to that.

I agree that its his game and if he finds that mod suits his style of play then that's great. He paid for the game and can play it however he wants. I was only trying to point out what I saw. I'm sure I have some ideas on mods that many people would think were OP as well so its all good. :)

Hey Hunter79, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1255887-unofficial-mod-request-thread/ on mod requests so modders can have a convenient place for ideas and such, so I added your idea there if you don't mind :)

OK game is pretty great! BUT the JUMPING is terrible. Can't just from a sprint for one, and the overall jump height is WAY too short. I really hope someone mods this quickly. Give us the option to enchant items to add to jump height.

Thanks. And again, the game is amazing despite this small complaint. I just wanna feel like I have more freedom in the world and am more distinct as an agile type character.
