For instance, take the platinum chip and Dragons. Both are things talked greatly about by the marketing department, but they play a small role compared to other facets in the main story.
Next, look at the main story. Both have a group of soldiers trying to defend a land they have been in for a period from a Roman-esque group trying to make that region under their control.
Then there is the beginning of the two games. In each we escape our own death, are saved by a wise old man, and have weird clothes on.
Finally, both games are named after the region they take place in.
Does knowing any of this information influence my decision to buy skyrim? No, but what else is there to talk about until it comes out?
