Mod Request - Life Continues When Sleeping

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 5:19 am

Now, I might be talking rubbish here, but I seem to remember that when you went to sleep in Oblivion, NPCs continued about their day to day lives without you. So for example, if you went to sleep in an inn at 10pm, there would be people drinking in the bar, but when you woke up at 4am, all the NPCs would very sensibly have gone to bed.

I've just been to sleep for 5 hours in Windhelm and when I woke up, every one was in exactly the same place as they were when I went to bed. The tavern minstrel hadn't even moved on a note in her singing!

This is silly, and a bit of an immersion breaker for me.

I'm no modder, but so appreciated all the amazing stuff people made for Oblivion. Is there anyone who could sort this out? Is it even possible?

Many thanks!!

I have to admit I've never had what you described happen to me. Everything seems to continue as it should, people move, go to work etc. I've slept in a couple of Taverns now and had no issues and also tried 'Waiting' in the middle of the street and noticed everyone milling about their day during 'refresh' whilst waiting.

Oh! Really? Hmmm that's very strange then. Perhaps it's a bug.

It hasn't just happened once, it happens all the time when I sleep, no time passes and everything is as it was when I went to bed (I've had about 10 sleeps now I suppose).

Perhaps I should make a post in the technical thread and see if anyone else is having the same problem.

Thanks so much for letting me know about that though!
