This thread is for discussing the PS Vita!

I just received mine yesterday and it's pretty cool

There is a good review for it on youtube:

I'm thinking of getting it. I'm spending the summer at my moms and they don't have internet or an HDTV, so its going to be pretty boring.

I can't decide between this and the 3DS.
I love games like zelda, pokemon, and harvest moon. I'd probably get zelda:OoT, Pokemon Defenders of Sky, and Harvest moon Tale of two towns.

Yet the VIta has a lot of the final fantasy games, which is one of my favorite series. FF1/2/4/7 (I haven't played FF7 yet, I know, its pratically a crime) along with Dessidia 012, LBP, and Harvest moon wonderful life.

Its a hard decision.

I want the Vita pretty badly, it has a good host of launch games with quite a few nice ones on the way, including a port of Disgaea 3, a series of which I recently became acquainted with, and am now a huge fan of. Put over 250 hours into the first one, and over 100 already for the 2nd one and I haven't even really started the post game content, just going for some of the alternate endings.

I played a demo of it at Game Stop it looks interesting but the launch titles are a little lacking, I might wait until Vita get's stronger titles and the price goes down a little bit. So right now now it's filed under "maybe I'll get it someday" .

I again might get it if/when it becomes cheaper. Looks interesting, but the reviews have been pretty lack luster.

I'll wait to see if any RPGs (likely JRPGs) I'm interested in hit. Right now, it's just an expensive, but well-built, handheld with potential, but not much current incentive, in my opinion.

Same fate as the PSP..

Vita will become the best non-Nintendo handheld to date? :P

I'm holding out for now, though I'm sure that'll change as new games are announced and Final Fantasy X HD's release date is announced. The $250 price point isn't a problem (it's what I paid for both the original PSP and 3DS), but Gravity Daze isn't enough to get me to be an early adopter. I still haven't bought a 3DS game despite owning it since launch.

This is all assuming Square doesn't go straight to the Vita with Final Fantasy Type-0's Western release. They do that and I'll pretty much have to buy one.

Vita will become the best non-Nintendo handheld to date?

Yea best Final Fantasy non-Nintendo handheld to date, with nothing else that I want to play on it. Maybe I missed the train some where but the PSP isn't exactly successful. I bought it when it a big thing years ago, and..it was just that, a "big thing"... with not a damn thing I haven't already played before on a console. Games I have for it: FF8, FF7, Person 3, 2 other games and FF7 Crisis Core, FFT:WoTL(when I already have the original FFT....) FF, FF, FF, FF, FF -.- And this is coming from someone who doesn't ride the FFHate Train.

Vita is just an upgrade to a disappointment which I will not buy into -.-.

My wife imported one back in December, I'm probably going to snag me one Wednesday. I have a 3DS but most of the best games for 3DS I beat like 15 years ago, so probably going to give that to my daughter :P she's 7 and can play 3d lol

I just got one tonight, sprung for the 3G model with a 32gig memory stick. My wallet is very sad... :(

But, it'll be worth it.

I'm just not part of the market for the Vita.

If I'm not at home to play videogames, I'm at school, a friends, or out and about. If I'm at school, I'm either in class or training. If I'm at a friend's house, I don't really want to isolate myself playing Vita anyways. If I'm out and about, I'm too busy for Vita.

So really, I just don't have time Vita; it'd be a big waste of money for me.

The Vita right now is an investment I will wait on, I will wait until future models cone out then I will try it, right now there is not a must have thing for me. When the Final Fantasy games start rolling out on it and other jrpgs we will see as those are some of my favorite games.

A portible PS3? yes please!

I personally want it at the moment for 3 games:

1) Persona 4 The Golden
2) Final Fantasy X rerelease
3) Blazblue: Continuum Shift - Extend

Locally for me at least the Vita is being far more recieved than the 3Ds, although I suspect it will even out the moment a Pokemon game is released stateside.
