Am i the only one who thinks being a vampire is just a nuisa

The prospect of becoming a vampire seems cool and alluring, but the constant need to feed drives me crazy.

I dont know why anyone would willingly allow Vampirism to happen to their character. It enforces a bunch of arbitrary limitations on your character for a very minimal benefit. Limitations like "I cant wait/sleep now, ill progress to the next stage", "Oh darn, i cant talk to this guy, my stage progressed to the final one in the wilderness, time to skulk about in some houses for a few minutes", or "I cant fight this opponent, he will exploit my fire weakness and destroy me".

Perhaps im accentuating the negative here. What are the payoffs of having to deal with these limitations? Frost resistances, some powers which may or may not be availiable to you, and a 15% bonus to Sneak and Illusion. My verdict? Woop dee doo!

I would rather my resistances not get touched at all. Before vampirism screws with them, i can handle both elements reasonably well. Afterwards, one becomes a total cakewalk, and the other is an unstoppable [censored] train i cant bypass. No thanks.

Werewolves are fine. A power and immunity to disease for giving up "Well Rested". Fair tradeoff, and not a single aspect of a character that seems to obstruct my everyday play and require me to accommodate for it.

i think your answer is no, and your probably the only person who actually is a vampire aswel since the most people keep sure to watch their active magic effects once they had a brawl with some vampires and get rid of it in time :P

I am loving how you are complaining about the central premise to the concept of being a vampire. Immortality, Power, and the tradeoff, is being cut off from society, and the need to commit an essentially evil act to maintain the illusion of life.

Personally I feel you should have to accommodate for turning into a bloodthirsty monster every now and then, it should be inconvenient.

Can we please have a Stat & Bonus [censored] forum now please. (I'm kidding, play how you like, but your complaint amuses me)

Pure utter annoyance. I don't even care about the payoffs. I just don't want it, don't need it, and to top it off, that horrible movie Twi*barf*light pretty much ruined the whole appeal of being a vampire.

*shhhs*Ohh my precious skin can't stand the sun ohh i'm so delicate*shhss*

Viking nord enters the stage : "FUS RO DAH!"

*Vampire flies away, tumbling, arms flapping, folds itself around a tree, slowly turns to ash.*

Viking nord loots ash pile : "Hm. Pathetic"

Nah, I hate it.
There is no fun to be had with it IMO.

It's basically just a role playing thing. Which is good. Think about it. If being a vampire or werewolf had no real drawbacks and was just a buff, or even didn't have a major nuisance associated with it, being infected would basically be mandatory.

Actually, i should reiterate. You do have to accommodate for turning into a monster, in the sense everything hates you and wants you dead. But its not obtrusive like Vampirism because it can be turned on at your own discretion. You dont choose to progress to the next stage of vampirism, your only choice is to feed, or not to feed.

Yeah, I find them so too. But it's been said here, that it's a good role playing element.
