How can I get my computer to play Skyrim?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:09 am

Ok so basically, I'm not sure if my computer will play skyrim or not. I don't care about how good the graphics are, I just want it to be possible to play the game. According to this website: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/intro.aspx I will be able to run it, but I asked someone on here and they said I won't be able to.
Here are my specs:
Intel Core Duo Processor, 2.40 GHz
4 GB RAM
ATI Movility Radeon HD 3400 Graphics Card (2GB Video RAM, DX11 supported)

Is there anything I need to do, or can do, or can download, or anything like that that will help my computer be able to run skyrim? Thank you guys so much.

3400 does not have DX11 support, only 5000 series and up support DX11, also 3400 is not a very fast card.
You can try http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html to free up resources, it might give you a little edge.

You do not need DX11 to run this game, it is a DX9 title.

However, your video card is the weak point. You will have to upgrade that to get decent performance.
