Anybody who complained or is still complaing or has the idea that the DLC wont happen or is still far off think again. The 360 got an update, and I heard the PS3's is only hours away and that shows u that the DLC is also right around the corner because it was there plan from the begging of this DLC that there was to be an update coming right along with it. Which spells awesome news if its coming earlier now granted even if it doesnt come out in the next day or so its iniment that itll be here in august unless somethig horrid happens like massive bugs/glitches ocurr.

You guys better think long and hard about charging 800pts for this DLC after 2 weeks. The DLC isnt worth 800 pts. If you are going to try to charge 800, you better have 4-5 maps. The rest is just fluff.

Thanks for FINALLY announcing the damn date. I hope the next DLC isnt such a friggin nightmare to release.

The free 2 weeks is a gift to the players that have been sticking with the game or that have been following it closely enough to pick it up again after the dlc release. Id hardly call new abilities and a new level cap fluff, not to mention free achievements.

If you dont want to pay for it, then download it Next week problem solved. Im all for them charging after 2 weeks, if they generate some $ from this game then theyre more likely to keep the updates / patches coming.

This is true..they are more likely to continue supporting brink if they are actually making money off it

If they wanted to make money off of this game, maybe they should have releashed it when it was FINISHED

The problem is that they wont make money off the dlc. There just arent enough players and nobody ever bought a game for 2 free maps. How long will 2 maps hold the attention? A week, two weeks? Kaos are giving their new dlc in exchange for free meals because nobody would actually be silly enough to pay proper money for anything they do. Yet, Homefront is still more popular than Brink. So, sd have no chance.

Not true. I have been around since day 1. The "free dlc" is for ripping folks off on content when the game shipped, period.

These maps were meant to be in the game anyway..... They just couldnt finnish only 8 maps and the game in time let alone 10 maps so they left them out to release later when they were finished. The reason it is goingto have a price isnt because of this if it was down to them it would just be straight out free like the said. But there are other reason and regulations why they haveto put a price on it due to Microsoft and Sony.
These maps were meant to be in the game, They are not free gifts because the game wasnt working. They are just giving us what we should have had anyway if the game came out a few months later and finished and not too early.

First off, I never said we didnt deserve the DLC for free. In my mind the fact that they arent charging is in order to make up for the state of the game at launch. I am not disagreeing with you guys on that fact. I am just tired of hearing people complain about it.
Its free, theres not much else that they can do at this point. I disagree with the idea that this DLC should be free forever, the people that care about the game will download in the first 2 weeks. I am all for them selling to others later, hopefully they can generate enough income to make future content worth their while to make.

If you want to look back at other games DLC check out MW2's first DLC pack $15 for 4 maps, 2 of them were recycled from MW1. You dont think those maps were ready at launch (which was also laggy as hell for the first 2 weeks).

My 2 cents
