I think GTA had humor, whilst Saint's Row had "humor".

Can't say I find the current DLC to be worth their full price. Gangstas in Space was fun, but rather short. Wouldn't say it's worth 5 euros. And all the minor weapon DLC and such are completely skippable.

Still, I managed to pick up the game plus the season pass (for the 3 story DLCs) for 18 euros so it's a great deal for me, 2 DLCs down and one to go!


As for the main game, I just finished it. The 'I need a hero' song during the final mission was awesome.

Agreed, I still need to finish the second ending, just haven't had time.

Has anyone else noticed oddly low framerates with Saints Row: The Third? I'm running most settings on low other than my resolution (1080p) and getting 20 to 30 fps most of the time.

My specs:
i7-2820QM (2.3-3.4 GHz)
Nvidia GTX460M 1.5GB
8GB HyperX DDR3-1600
128GB Crucial M4 SSD (OS Drive)
750GB Seagate Momentus 7200 RPM (Data)

I know the 460M isn't the fastest thing in the world, but I would have expected better.

Ehhhhhhhh. I enjoyed the previous Saints Row games, but Saints Row the Third feels like a Hollywood film, a fun run the first time around, but once you've already seen the special effects, the game leaves something to be desired.

-Most of the missions are just starting a side activity.
-Clothing options were reduced DRASTICALLY. (They claim it was engine reasons, but I just think it was laziness)
-Locked Content DLCs were a dike move. (Future Soldier Pack, Z Pack, Warrior Pack, Shark Attack Pack, Nyteblade Pack are all Locked Content on the disk)
-The DLC were very short with much left to be desired. (GiS was funny, but the items unlocked were very rubbish)
-Unlike Saints Row 2, there really isn't much to do once you beat Saints Row the Third. In 2 you could fly around and STILL find out of the way fun stuff, not so much with Saints Row the Third.

I don't believe Saints Row the Third is a terrible game, but I do feel it was rather overhyped and mediocre. I feel it tried to hard to appeal to crude humour as opposed to a good story, ala Saints Row 2.

Every Saints Row game I play makes me want to play the up and coming GTA game.

This, more or less. The locked content thing really bothered me, to be honest.

I'm having some issues as well. My PC isn't as good as yours (Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16ghz CPU, ATI HD4850 512 MB graphics card) but I'm running at a resolution of 1280x1024 and the performance is pretty bad at times. I'm nowhere near max settings either.

It's better optimized than Saints Row 2, but that doesn't say much.

I actually prefer SR:3 to the other two. I've been thinking about getting the DLC, but all I've heard is luke warm reviews for them :/.

Very fun game, I had some spare pre-paid money I had to burn so off it went to that shark gone and the other minor DLC's. Weee, game is so much fun. You can just hop in and play, even if it is starting a new game to do all the madness again.

You mean to tell me that the end is the end and you can't freeroam after the end?!??! That's the reason I never did the last quest of FO:NV.... Grrrr

You can still do whatever you want after the last mission. There just not that much to do, due to lack of content.

There's a whole bunch to do. After completing all of the quests (100% completion), I went around flying and having fun messing with the cops for like another 10+ hours. Also, there are mods for the game... sort of... here: http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/index.php

Well, you're lucky then if it's on PC you got it. Mine wasn't strong enough, so got for console.

But honestly, for how long can you piss around with the cops? The game itself is all about that, but there's a sense of purpose to it, to continue. After all that's done, there's no longer any purpose, any drive to continue. At least Volition could've made it so that there would be randomly generated hitman/chop shop targets, at least that would've given some sense to continue playing, when there's otherwise nothing left to do.

I bought that shark gun too! It's pretty awesome haha.

This. If the sole merit of a games aftergame content is 'Uh.....YOU CAN KILL COPS!' then it's clearly an unfun after game solo. In 2 there was so much to spend your time doing, exploring. In terms of content I'd say it's half that of SR2. Sure it might look more 'real' but there's a definite lack of things to see and do once the game is over.

I like the windows in SR3

Don't go by articles alone. Do research, judge for yourself. I have most of the DLCs that adds items to the world (Don't need cheats with the upgrade system, and the blood svcker pack is redundantly useless, so I wont buy those.)

That said, svck is the wrong word, the mission DLCs are short, fun the first time around, and the 'loot score' is mediocre at best. I did however enjoy Genki Bowls 'sixy Kitten Yarngasm' activity.

The DLC aren't terrible bad, but there is a definite sense of disappointment to it's content DLC.

@Spluger- Ehhh, I enjoy the fluidity of gameplay on SR3, but I miss Ezzy 105.

It's a cool gimmick to make one think the inside is 3d.
