Laser Tag Paintball disscussion

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:58 pm

This Thread is open to everybody that likes paintball, laser tag, and wants to play either of them.
I love paintball. I love getting hit. I went to camp last year and I didn't get hit. I was sad.
lol
Anyways today I played laser tag for the first time. It was so cool! It was dark, and it was foggy, and it had crazy colors all over, and my purple shirt turned pink. It was definetly an adrenaline rush.

For anyone who's played paintball - just how painful would you rate it? Because my sister has gone a few times, come back with bruises and broken skin but says it's not that bad. I'm under the impression that my sister is a droid or somehow impervious to pain and would like a normal person's reaction. My sister spent a week with a hairline fracture before demanding to be taken to the hospital - in primary school. She is a machine.
I love laser tag. I've never suggested this to my new group of friends but I know there's a local laser tag centre so thanks for reminding me - it's only over the road from the bowling centre so that's a whole (pain free!) night sorted!

It depends on where you are hit. Like back of the head can really hurt. (you are wearing a mask.) Range can be a big factor. If the opponent is far, it doesn't hurt as bad as up close shooting. (which you're normally not allowed to do.)
It's about an average of 5/10.
It also depends on what you rate as "pain". With paintball for me, I'd rank it a 7/10 hurting scale.

Doesn't really hurt me. Just stings for a second and goes away. They purple welts they leave just look bad, they don't hurt that much. But, if you get hit from about 10 feet away (which illegal too shoot while that close at most fields) on the knuckle, it could split it. My knuckle was gushing blood, that was the most I've ever been hurt from paintball, apart from accidentally laying a yellow jackets nest.

I'd rank it 3/10, then again, I have a relatively high paint tolerance.

well, I've went once, I overkilled my protection a bit. I wore three thin shirts. But, the only time I felt anything was when I was pulling the trigger on my gun and I was shot on my finger. It trapped it behind the trigger and squeezed it. It was 7/10. The guy had a high powered Paintball gun.

It doesn't hurt all that bad. If you are really worried about it, there are two main things that you can do:
1. Buy padded clothes. Many paintball stores sell clothing with some light foam padding that is unnoticeable and works well.
2. Build padded clothes. The best material I know of is the light cardboard that separates bottles in cases of beer (mostly see it in 40oz cases). It is legit cardboard, NOT the corrugated paper that boxes are made from. Each sheet is about the thickness of a playing card and when layered correctly, can stop most of the pain.

I just usually wear a long sleeved t shirt, old jeans and sneakers.
I love the masks! They make me look so cool.
I remember shooting my sister in the face during a session. Such a sweet victory! She had like orange paint all over her mask.

I was in the group that first started playing paintball in Australia, we started off with sling shot, went to bolt action, then to pump action all single shot, and gave up when semi autos came in. They could be very painful, i had 2 guys rush me while i was in a trench and stood over me and shot me in the face me cheek and all around me eye was blown up like a balloon, they ran away and got in their car and drove off very quickly, same game a guy got shot in the mouth hit the back of he's throat and knocked him unconscious, ive shot many people and made them bleed, one of my friends shot his brother in the ear over 5 times and it bleed so much his neck and whole shoulder was saturated with blood he only shot him that much because he kept charging the same position after we kept telling him not to.

But the semi autos hit alot harder and caused alot worse injuries, plus the skill went out of the game when it was just people shooting as fast as possible down field, unlike the single shots, where there was skill involved when you only had a single round at a time.

Ive played 2 versions of laser tag, didnt like eiher of them, to reliant on technology, i was actually a good shot, yet the sensors on many of the packs wouldnt register hits and way to many players would cover them, which is why i like paintball you cheated, you payed for it, one guy who cheated a team of 15 people stood over him and emptied 30 rnds each into him, never did that again.

I've only went paint balling once with some friends, I don't think I hit anybody, but I did get hit, a lot...

I'd give it a 4 out of 10, the adrenaline really handles any pain you might feel.

I enjoy laser tag, paintball, & airsoft. Of the three, laser tag is my favorite. I've been playing that since the eighties (when I got a two-player http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-psUijK18NKc/TzUwDsfE78I/AAAAAAAABss/Jv3SYb4sv8Q/s1600/lazertag.jpg set). I can't even begin to estimate how much action that set saw. I've been a member of the local Laser Quest since 1999. I've played over 1,500 games since becoming a member. The best is when there's 30 (or more) players in the arena. No shortage of targets then.

That depends on a lot of factors: how powerful the paintball gun is, where you get hit, at what range, etc. I've been hit at close range and barely felt it, and I've been hit from long range and it stung for a couple of days. The worst hit I've felt I would rate as 3 out of 10. That one left a nice black bruise a bit larger than a golf ball.

Laser Tag is amazing no matter when the arena and equipment were designed. The end.

Usually when they play paintball here males are recommended to wear a protector, ive seen more than a few guys, even shot a few guys in the family jewels, and that certainly hurts just a little.

I've played paintball once, and was hit in the @ss and shoulder. It left relatively large violet mark on my skin (with diameter of, like, 4-5cm) but I was shot form 5 meters or so.

I'd want to play airsoft, but that's somewhat expensive.

I've barely heard about laser-tag (once several years ago and another one right now), I guess it's not popular in my country.

I've never actually done either. I'm more into target shooting than the pretend combat stuff.

I did terrible when I played Laser Tag. Like I got 27 out of 30 players. :D And I kept getting hit. If they were real guns i'd be dead. It was so fun though.

Why not try airsofting? It looks to hurt less while still looks like fun.
