despite the issues, rage deserves props for incredible level

I've also been running in some technical issues to get the game running and now i only experience crashes while loading inbetween levels but i must say, props to the level design. Once you get the game running, it proves its really awesome.
The engine can do things i've never seen in other shooters.
I absolutely loved the hospital level and prison level. Totally awesome!!!!
For that alone you want to play rage!!!!!

The bank vault level was another incredible level and there's more to come. The enemies there were great! I loved the ones with the gas cannisters on them. They go up into the air and explode with a big bang, that really made me laugh out loud i loved it.

What i'm saying here is that it's absolutely a pitty that the game has some buggy issues because it really deserves credit for other aspects like level design, character motion, level of detail and randomness everywhere.

I agree, the level designs were top notch. The dead city, authority base, rock formations and the jackal canyon were some of the best parts in the game.

I agree. Except for the invisible walls everywhere the level design is outstanding. It seems some of that was again thanks to the megatexture technology. Because of the incredible draw distances, unique textures, and dynamic use of textures they could automate much of the geometry of the rock formations. That freed them up to concentrate on where your character can go and just how much they can see rather then all the little details.

Agree 100%.
Problem is big reviewers don't look at level designs, they looked at PC problems that plagued this game.
And it's a bad reputation that is hard to fix.

+1000000

it such a shame that they had to do it.

Remember one of the last races where you have to jump from a ramp? You just hit invisible wall in the centre of the track all the time.. :banghead:

Yes there are a lot of invisible walls but they're not everywhere. . . You can actually fall off quite a few areas and you will die . . .example: walk the path up the hill to the radio station and when you get to the top and the door to the station is on your left, take a right and you can walk right off of that cliff and die. I just did it a few hours ago. And there are other places too. I think around Kvasir's chasm and the cliffs up above him to name one more. I fell and died in several other places but I can't remember right now where they were.

Ending level----needs a lot of work and content as well as a proper ending. Did the whole thing with popshells and shotgun without breaking a sweat.

The best invisible walls are the ones in the wasteland. If you boost the fully upgraded buggy into one you can actually drive up the invisible wall!!!

Oh boohoo. It's a linear shooter, on purpose. It does what it is meant to and it does it exceedingly well. Unfortunately, all anyone wants to do is cry that it isn't hard enough or there aren't enough bullet sponge bad guys. Give it a rest. :flamethrower:
