@qq'ers You guys are rediculous....

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 10:30 pm

Its really infuriating all the hate going around the forums right now. "THIS GAME IS GOING FLOP JUST LIKE TOR BLAH BLAH RAGE!!!!!" or "ITS JUST GOING TO BE A WOW CLONE RAAAAAAAAGE!" or right now my favorite, "IT DOESNT HAVE 1ST PERSON, THATS IT! THIS GAMES svckS!"

Lets anolyze these statements...

"THIS GAME IS GOING FLOP JUST LIKE TOR BLAH BLAH RAGE!!!!!"

How can you make such asumptions when the game was just announced? http://ponibooru.413chan.net/_images/c029d3024e199deee4e5362b3e045dd2/27677%20-%20artist%3Acartoonlion%20Trixie%20wizard.png No, no your not. So stop. FYI ToR didn't flop, infact its done quite the opposite. It still has over a million subs and is still going strong. "Oh but look at this fancy graph! They had way more subs at release!" Sure they did however EVERY NEW MMO HAS A BOAT LOAD OF SUBS UPON RELEASE ITS NORMAL GUYS! Not everyone who picks it up for the first month is going to love it. People will unsubscribe the first month its inevitable. As the months go by you'll soon find your core playerbase and right now tis looking very good for ToR.

(btw Rift didnt flop either)

This game will do just fine. Is it going to kill WoW? No lol only thing 'killing' WoW is Blizzard if they shut down the servers. This game will do well because it of the name, THE ELDER SCROLLS, is in the title. The name alone will attract a ton of attention.

"ITS JUST GOING TO BE A WOW CLONE RAAAAAAAAGE!"

Maybe, maybe not? How do you know? Cause its a Third Person Hotkey MMO? So what? Maplestory is a Third Person Hotkey MMO, hell Guild Wars 2 is as well! Does it look like WoW? Nope. Hell even if it was similar to WoW why is that a bad thing? Zenimax has never made a MMO in there lives I'm actually happy they are sticking to a formula that has proven to work, rather than trying to do something different and risk failing and losing all that money. This whole "They just want part of the WoW pie." Why? Cause they wanted to make a MMO for those who have been asking for it since the beginning of time? You guys are just butthurt that its actually happening.

"IT DOESNT HAVE 1ST PERSON, THATS IT! THIS GAMES svckS!"

This statement right here takes the cake. Do you know why MMO's don't have an option between 3rd person and 1st person? Its cause the 3rd person guy would be at a HUGE advantage. They can see more of the surrounding enviorment PLUS they can see behind them. Could you imagine trying to do WoW PvP while in 1st person? It friggin svck. There is no way in hell you could play Skyrim as it is now online without it being super unbalanced/breaking lore.

Why cant I be a vampire or werewolf? Cause that'd be a pain in the ass to balance game mechanic wise/ lore wise (sudden influx of vamps/werewolves in the world) allowing anyone to be a vamp/wolf ontop of there current proffession? They'd have to add it as a different race or class type thing for it to work.

I know MMO's aren't for everyone, I get that. However don't bash the game before you know ANYTHING about it. Seriously its stupid to even consider judgement on it. I for one am excited for this and can't wait for more info and videos to come out.

So to all you naysayers, rest easy cause this isn't marking the end of the single player games we all know and love, let us MMO players have this game quit [censored] on our dreams.

/rant

Yup, the we don't know anything about the game but I heard a rumor from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy that heard it from a guy people. All those guys wouldn't possibly make something up or the facts couldn't possibly have been twisted.

How can we make these assumptions? Simply. It doesn't really appeal to anyone. It's a Guild Wars 2 clone (right down to the example of skill combination they used) that craps all over the lore, uses a crappy single-threaded engine, and has absolutely nothing in common with The Elder Scrolls gameplay-wise, and brings nothing new to the table.

This will go f2p very quickly, mark my words.

It appeals to me. Isn't that an extreme generalization based on your own opinions?

Not saying that you can't have a opinion or something like that. :ohmy:
Also, to be fair, there are some Game Informer's Scans out there with lots of information. (Still, I think that people should do harsh judgements before actually seeing the game)

its the internet, people are gonna [censored] cry and complain about anything and everything. I swear I think half of them are only here cause they got banned from [censored] and cant go cry on /v/.

Most common complaint will be 'waaah its a clone of WoW' but that arguement is just stupid and you should feel bad for making it. Most if not all MMO's have a quest system, and those quests tend to range from "Go here and get this' to 'kill X amount of Y" and WoW was NOT the first MMO to do this. Third person? Whoop de doo. It's an MMO, its going to be a MUCH different experience than your standard TES game.

I also love the fact people are ashing it and crying like this when we havent had anything but a video of a guy doing a voiceover and nothing for the game yet. Give [censored] a chance before you start QQ'ing all over the damn place.

Should we now make a similar thread about how "rediculous" are the pro bono apologists?

People are upset because this is an MMO merely set in the TES universe.

What people wanted was The Elder Scrolls done as an MMO.

Also, opinions and constructive criticism is a good thing...

Oh no! Your telling me I won't have to pay a monthly sub to play!? THE HORROR!

Stop using this clone crap argument. Theres only so much you can do with the combat in MMO's, if its not broken don't fix it right? Also show me videos of the combat since you know how the combat looks like.

That would never work though. Like I said above there is no way you could play ANY TES game as an MMO without it being horribly imbalanced and lore breaking.

What about an MMO that does nothing new appeals to you? What is it about a TES game with classes and XP rather than a skill-based freeform system, turn-based combat instead of real-time action, and events that run directly counter to established lore appeals to you? Is it the art style that looks like it was ripped straight from Rift? Maybe the prospect of 500 people becoming Emperor on a monthly basis? I see most people on here saying "what the hell are you guys thinking" rather than "hooray, the TES MMO I always hoped for."

I don't care that a TES mmo exists, I'm not going to play it, I care that it might threaten the future of my single player TES games.

Different developer yes, it still can have an impact though.

Failue could hurt gran recognition.

Success could wipe out the need for a single player installment.

Its not the lack of the first person camera that kills for me.

Its not the the quests that I do that everyone else will also do a million times.

Its not the endless grind for high level gear to keep my subscription that kills it more me.

Its not the lack of an Elder Scrolls staple and the ability to loot all those loose objects in the world.

Its mmo that ruins it for me.

Which is why it should not be a TES mmo. It feels like they are using TES for brand recognition. They could have developed their own lore and ruined that in an MMO.

Okay then, it appeals to people who eat up whatever new MMO comes out with the promise that it's totally going to be different from all the other ones, you guys, we promise. It won't be a themepark MMO trying to wrest subscribers from WoW at all! It won't be like Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Final Fantasy 13, Rift Online, The Old Republic...

We don't really do:
- threads about other threads;
- threads about people;
- threads about other people in other threads;
- threads about how other people in other threads react to information.
