I know there are daggers and longswords but what about Short swords.

I think the imperials (true to their classical counterparts) have short blades.

As far as I know there are not "shortswords" and "longswords" anymore. Now there are "swords" and they have different sizes (the Imperial sword as the poster above said is quite short, resembling a gladius). Other swords will be longer.

the imperial short sword looks awesome, it really ads something to the picture "imperial" not like oblivion where they used long swords.

I too am a huge fan of shortswords. In fact, in Oblivion, it's all I use now, has been for at least a year or so. I just like it because it's faster than a longsword, yet has a longer reach than a dagger. It's just right. Plus I like to get right up close to enemies to use my touch spells, which are my favorite.

So all that to say, I've been reading everything with a particular eye to see if anyone says anything about shortswords. I have read everything that I could read that was official, but saw NOTHING about shortswords. All the official videos show nothing but long swords or daggers (but at least these are a little longer than in Oblivion). So this leads me to think that there are no shortswords in the game. However, no one has ever asked the question in an interview, so we just don't know.

I'm fine with Short Swords not being named because I can tell what a shortsword is by looking at it.

Yet another good reason to kill soldiers of the Imperial Legion.
