Things which need fixing...

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:59 am

Skyrim is a great game, but not without its flaws ie..

.Not being able to crouch with an arrow drawn. You could in oblivion, it just feels clunky not being able to.
.Be able to jump whilst sprinting.
.Remove the long delay when switching from bow to drawing a sword when both are hotkeyed to the left/right d-pad.
.Why does the camera pan out when I draw my weapon in 3rd person? keep the distance fixed, if the player wants to pan out, then let them.
.Enable a toggle for auto brightness adjust mid game.
.Enable a toggle for 3rd person finishers.

What would you fix?

I'd like to see an archer try to draw a non compound bow while crouching. I know you don't want to break sneak but I like the fact you gotta stand up to draw and fire.

Is crouching different from sneaking? Because I can sneak (crouched) with a bow drawn just fine.

Why would you need to jump while sprinting? The delay for changing weapons probably exists because, unless you're dropping your previous weapons, you shouldn't be able to instantly switch anything. :) Camera switches to combat FOV I guess? Never had problems with brightness. You wanted to turn off finishers? I think they are really cool. :)

I'd fix the UI.

Umm... no, you don't need to stand up to draw and fire. Most people shoot while sneaking.

His complaint is that you can't switch between standing to sneaking with the bow drawn, despite being able to:
Draw the bow while Standing
Draw the bow while sneaking
Draw the bow while Sneaking, then stand.

I wish I could jump while sprinting too.. it breaks the flow having to kill All my forward momentum to jump over an obstical... They really should have made vaulting possible.

On the Camera Pan-out: I think you can change both, the Weapon Drawn and Weapon not-drawn distances seperately. It changes them because it likes centering you in the screen during melee combat, so you can see more of your surroundings.

I'm playing the game RIGHT NOW and I'm going from standing to crouching with an arrow drawn. I'm also going from crouching to standing to crouching again...

-Fixing the bug that stops you doing the rest of the Companions questline.
-Fixing the bug with a Stormcloaks quest.

They are all I want.

I'd fix the forum and make a complaint section seperate for all the whiners and cry babies.

Sounds like you haven't used a bow in stealth before, because it absolutely does not make you stand to fire (otherwise there'd be no such thing as bow sneak attacks).

It changes them because it likes centering you in the screen during melee combat, so you can see more of your surroundings.

Exactly the problem.. I wish they would have let the player decide this rather than force it on them.

Meh... I can't stand the over-the-shoulder view for melee, because it gives me a massive blind spot to my left.

This is driving me crazy! I was really looking forward to over the shoulder 3rd person combat. Really poor decision I think.

Over the shoulder or not isnt the issue, they could have centered the camera without panning out. Sure I hear ya about wanting to increase FOV, but Im quite able to decide that for myself.

You can pan back in! And I think it stays there. Not sure.

This is beginning to get irritating to me also.

But the camera control issue that irritates me even more is finishers. When a finisher happens my camera is yanked away from me even more drastically. My angle and distance settings are completely over-ridden and the camera moves to a different location altogether, sometimes so close to the action that I can't make out what's happening. I see a close-up of somebody's hip or shoulder while the actual finishing move happens off screen. After that the camera whizzes back to my settings. I find it to be very disorienting.

1) No more NPCs walking up to you during quest dialogue and talking over it.
2) Give dragons more shouts. Cause... Don't they speak dragon?
3) The ability to jump while sprinting. Cause it makes more sense than not being able to.
4) A 1st/3rd person finishing move option to toggle.
5) Let players play a Monk if they want to.
6) Stop NPCs from staring at you while their dialogue obviously indicates they're talking to someone else.

Just about the only gripes I have with the game. That said, Skyrim is the best game I own for 360, so don't think I don't appreciate all the things it's done right.

What would you fix?

-never tried to sneak with a bow
-yea, sprint jump should be in the game
-weapon switching is fine
-I guess because you have a bigger fov this way
-whats wrong with it?
-yea, I thing finishers should always stay in that view you are in
